the ideal doesnt exist cuz there are only so many things you can do in a game, we want it to be more, but the fact is it cant be that way.

some of the older MMOs were different, back when the quest wasnt about the reward but about the story as a whole, and as much as players demand it, they will be pissed off if it ever goes back to it, because at the same time, its not what they want
Yeah, that's why GW2 and Archeage are most hyped on MMORPG.com, because they are the typical MMO everyone apparently wants... oh wait, no they're not. They're atypical.

Edit: And yes I know it's an impossible pipe-dream (what I was saying earlier), but at the same time, isn't it something games should strive toward, instead of making pure grinding the backbone of their game?

I personmally just like killing things. Also the end game I was talking about was ffxi...... not WoW. PPl in ffxi too end game to seriously. It was hard to have fun since your worried about your performance 99% of the time. No LS i was in for long made end game fun. 1 LS tried to make it fun, but people ruined that really quick with a international war between players NA vs EU. I had to change the very way I playec just to do end game. And personally that shouldn't happen. Which is why ppl took it to seriously.

All ppl thought about was getting to end game. Forcing ppl to cookie cut, yelling at them for being different just so they can get to end game.

Like I aid. I find enjoyment in killing mobs. Why? I'm watching at least my character physicaly doing something. Aside from running around the world doing quests. Idm killing mobs hours on end. I do that in every other rpg. Like the elder scrolls.

Quests in a multi class game can't give exp. It would be heavily exploited or ppl would run out of quests.

DCUO took the level grind outa the mmo and sucked because of it. PPL are powering through content and the devs saddly can't do the mnthly content as promised. Sony is being very strict on the content that DCUO is releasing. I'm afraid of Ps3 version of ffxi because of it >.>

MMo need some form of grind or ppl will do what they want in a mnth and leave.

Also the mini quests in ffxiv atm are what is in ffxi mostly not every ffxi quest has a cs. Actually very few did.

i am so not surprised that Sony is blocking them from having huge regular updates
another game that is having that issue is rock band(sounds dumb, but its true), Sony actualy put a limit on the ammount of stuff they can have downloadable for the game when they said they wanted to bring the rock band network to the system cuz it was too many downloads/too much bandwidth

i never thought of it though, now im curious how it will be handled with FFXIV

To have a number you can grow by repeatedly doing that one quest in the game over and over again.

Obviously different guildleves at different Aetherytes, killing some bigger and higher level monsters, ability to kill NMs in a more effective way and faster, city rank missions, etc etc

downloads are not even handled through the psn stpry but as you log in the game. Much like WoW or ffxi. And their updates are not even big. The Only update they really had was adding a valintines event (which was late) 3 more raids 2 races and catwoman mission. The update was delayed till late febuary.

hmm, well i also know sony likes to overly do QA on stuff too before they let it go through, from what im to understand content has to be submited for review weeks in advance before they can push it into a game for download even.

i dont know, all i know is its one of the reasons im glad i have an xbox instead of a ps3, sony half asses alot of their stuff cuz its not a paid service to use their network like xbox live is
