Perhaps, tho I struggle to imagine what might be worse. The Sound and the destruction it brings seem incomparable.
While possible, it's in the name "End days" unless they're fully confident the WoL will save the day without their help, it really wouldn't matter if there's something worse, this isn't like with Garlamald where they can just keep out of it, this is a world ending event, even if a bigger one is coming and they're the only ones who can prevent it, or they think they are, that's of little use if the world "falls to ruin" before that larger threat even arrives.
My predictions are:
1: They have no plan, and simply refuse to see/underestimate how bad things currently are.
2: They have some plan to either escape the final days or stop them that will fail.
3: They've tried to make a deal with Danny like they did with the Garleans to be left alone if they stay out of it, which he'll brake soon as suites him.
4: The Forms plan is more for their knowledge and legacy to survive, not the people, something not know to Sharlayan at large.
5: Labyrinthos ends up being a fallout bunker of sorts for Sharlayan, though given it's apparent size, it's not going to house many of them, I'd assume the majority the Form and some lucky few will abandandon the rest to their fate and we get called back when they're attacked by the Terminus, I bet Labyrinthos won't work and will also get breached.

Re the Sharlayan confidence thing I wonder if it ties into Haedalyn's silence since Heavensward and the presence of Venat on some of the artwork. Probably a silly showerthought but what if some research team in old Sharlayan has done something...unwise? (i.e. someone extracted and bound the aspect of Venat than formed the heart of Haedalyn - unlikely sure but if anyone could manage that it is probably Old Sharlayan!)
A recent interview with Yoshi P. mentioned we'd be seeing characters from the job quests re-appearing in Endwalker...though none immediately spring to mind as likely candidates other then Sevestre (The member of the Sharlayan Forum who acts as the antagonist of the 50-60 AST quests).
I'm not really expecting much other then an "Oh, it's you again" if/when we do run into him, though.
I kinda wonder if us changing the future kinda threw them off as well. I mean if they do somehow know what is happening right now, it has to be written somewhere...What if they still believe that the bad future with the gas would happen and thus see it mostly as a conflict between Eorzea and Garlemald which then would end hurting the whole world? In the old scenario I could see them building something underground that could help protect them against Black Rose and after it was gone they could slowly rebuild even if a lot is still a mess and maybe unsaveable 200 years later.
A world ending threat simliar to the old Final days should not leave them a world where they can live again. Zodiark had to rewrite the laws of reality and bring back life to nature itself...how does Sharlayan plan to do that?
Of course I also like the idea that maybe they did something to Hydealyn. If they already were able to built the antitower that connects us with her I can see that they may have found a way to reach her through other means.
That would actually be a hilarious if it ends up being true.I kinda wonder if us changing the future kinda threw them off as well. "We know how the world ends!"
"Let me guess, something to do with Black Rose and the world turns on itself?"
"?!"
"That you could simply just wait it out?"
"H-How did yo-"
"Yeah, long of the short of it, that kind of already happened, it wasn't very good, a lot of the world didn't like the outcome, 8th calamity and all, so they changed it."
"C-Changed?! Preposterous! Such technology is-"
"Very possible... if you have some of the realms greats minds... and several decades... and a temporal robot primal... and a interimental space robot... and one crystal tower... and one very brave Cat boy."
"t-temporal!? interdimental?! Cat b-"
"This one, in fact."
*Graha waves very enthusiastically*
Would also be interesting if it turns out they've done/are doing something directly to Hydealyn, that would be an interesting route to take.
And the entire thing should be presented as some combination of kami shibai and cliff-notes stage play reenactment, a la "The Ember Island Players."
We are gonna need a recap.
あっきれた。
Can we get Jenomis to write it? I fear if we let certain Wanderers do it, it'll be... interestingly embellished
