OCE/AUS/NZ Store Pre-order goods

Hi there,

I want to pre-order some of the goods for the fanfestival. I have an EU account but live in Australia (as, apparently, We are part of the EU?). How can I go about getting the goods?

I go to the website and there is no 'merchandise' option for anything.

If this is intentional, Square, what in the heck.

I really want to support a game I love and rock the merch.

It is intentional, SE do not sell anything other than digital downloads to AU customers. You'll need to purchase stuff from the NA store and use a parceling forwarding service at great cost, or hope a seller in Japan will also carry some of the goods.

I cant use digital download codes from NA though, because i'm EU.

Oh, Russia is excluded entirely. We can't buy even digital goods there's simply no "Russia" for writing address (though I supposed nothing stops us from faking it), and we're officially considered EU region as well. There are many things I would like to buy from SE Store, but simply can't.

They really have weird politics on selling physical merch for some countries.

Because SE has offices in the US, and the company they use to run the store just doesn't ship to certain areas.

It's probably simply due to tax - Australian import tarrifs are notoriously high compared to many countries, and SE probably feels it's just not worth the hassle having Australian fans having to pay two lots of tax on any hypothetical FF merchandise (the 10% GST, plus import tarrifs and customs duties). This is why only games are available on the main SE European site if your location is Australia and why you can only buy digital editions there rather than physical - digital editions just have the GST on the price because there is nothing being imported.

Blame the Australian government for that.
