Much agree, In all the time I've actually played this game, there's never been any problems of this sort. I'm thinking neither did many others. As another player mentioned just before it's unlikely to be hardware related. There's no way that using a powerful card like an RTX 3070 is going to cause problems with this game. I can could run it on a lesser build than i currently have and there was no problem.
I'm also in agreement that it's a bit shady for the devs to be dismissing the player base that are experiencing problems. A live service model should have a lot more support. I wouldn't have so much of a problem with this happening if i didn't actually pay to play a game in which that i have paid for.
It's not something I find to be pleasant. And that so many others are landing on the same thread and reporting exactly the same problem with little to no support is verging on being really quite irritating.
The customer support needs to be brought inline with the consumers.
It's absolutely not some random issue and it's not that somebody is playing football with their PC (or using it as a football).
All indications appear to be pointing to a communication issue within the FFXIV client app. If there's a problem, that's definitely where it is. I'm probably correct to assume that in high population areas in the game, this is where most who are experiencing this issue are seeing it happen.
When actually in an instance, the game is typically more stable and even though there are the occasional lags (which also wasn't a problem before), such as what happened in my case when doing roulettes the day. It was fine until mid-instance and then all sorts of lag started happening, rendering it unplayable. It's like the server is getting clogged up or something, other games are running perfectly, online or otherwise. I had to restart the app and it was fine for the rest of that time. However, that it's became more frequent suggests that something is wrong with the server or some kinda code got wrecked.
There's no telling at this point in time because we aren't even getting any sort of confirmation that it is a known issue and is being worked on. There should be attention to that, because it's very much a disincentive to subscribe. After all, who wants to pay the plumber for a busted pipe?
I'll take a gamble on a sub next week and see if that other guy's suggestion of disabling game mode does anything. But it really should not be a gamble for a live service. Simply put, when you pay for access to something, it should be working and it's as simple as that.
I'm really just not going to mince my words in that regard, This is really a bad example for any game company to be setting.
