Quick question for the thread: Are you running it from a HDD or SSD?
This just started happening for me today. It seems to only pop up when I'm in a dungeon which is odd because I ran my dailies yesterday with no issues.
I haven't had any updates to windows in the past 24 hours or updates to anything else pop up. I'm just fine outside of dungeons but a minute or two after I enter a dungeon (daily, random, or explore) I get hit with

I have been having this issue since October, ontop of other issues. Even after having a new laptop, upgraded graphics card, and reinstalling the game twice now I am still having this same issue. It's beyond frustrating that SE hasn't been able to address this yet when its been going on for months now. I have been doing everything people are suggesting to do and I am still getting the same errors and crashes from it. Love the game but this makes me just want to throw my computer against a wall ><
I've been getting fatal directx errors recently. I've had a few in the past, but they were very few and far between each other. Since 5.5 update, I've had these crashes trigger very consistently. It started with cutscenes. It would trigger very consistently during the MSQ cutscene after Paglth'an, when Nanamo would start talking. It also happend in the short cutscene after I reached lv100 PotD and killed the final boss.
I tried numerous things to try to fix the issue: changing settings, update drivers, reinstall, but nothing worked.
Today, I was running Tsuki EX with some FC mates, and when we killed her I crashed again during the following cutscene. We ran it again, and this time I crashed when she transitioned to her final phase. Ran it again, this time crashed some 30 seconds into the fight. Went to the inn in Kugane, and went to test some setting with the cutscenes, and now I crash just from logging into the game while my character is getting out of bed.
I've also tried Dx9, and tbh it runs worse. The game stutters, and graphics bug out, and it still crashes.
The only luck I have had is resetting the system settings via the launcher, but changing any of the window sizes, regardless of fullscreen, borderless, or windowed, seems to quicken the rate of the crash.
Tbh, I'm not sure what to do. I am currently trying to redownload the game again to see if that fixes anything.
EDIT:
Problem persists after reinstall. Turning down the graphics to Standard(Desktop) helps some, but I really can't do much with out it crashing. Can't even run a dungeon without crashing at every pull. I have noticed that my GPU is frequently hitting 100% usage when playing, maybe that is a factor?
EDIT 2:
It looks like the frequent crashing has also been happening to other games. Perhaps it is my graphics card going bad? It is like 5 years old...

Since last update on this Thursday, I have similar DX11 crashes![]()
Just so I can hopefully establish a common thread here, how are people running the game? Steam? PC? Console? Through the native drive or an external? etc.
The game is constantly crashing. No errors, just crashes or reboots. Crashes only at DX11. At DX9, it works fine. Everything is fine with the temperature, with the memory and SSD, too. I reinstalled the game 2 times.
Are you reinstalling it to the same drive? I actually noticed an earlier post how someone copied someone else's "working" game folder was their fix and attempted a parallel installation on my C drive, since I usually run off my SSD external.
It turns out my own problem was that there were corruptions somewhere within the executable or supporting file structure. So deleting the "bad" folder and replacing it with the "good" one that I installed completely separate on my default drive, after testing the "good" one on said default drive, fixed my issues.
Try that and see if it stabilizes things for you. Hope otherwise you get your fix soon.
Today I decided to run in DX11, and as someone previously advised, I disabled GameMode in Win 10. I played all day - not a single crash. Previously, it crashed after an hour of play or earlier. Wonders...Are you reinstalling it to the same drive? I'll give that a shot too going forward. While I haven't had a crash since my pure reinstall, it doesn't hurt to make sure you've got everything possible in your favor.
