    AMD Errors

Hey! so i have tried everything and ive played multiple games for hours and my card has never given me any errors. but with Final Fantasy XIV the screen flickers and the textures gets weird and weird direct x 11 error crashes. any one know what is up with this or is there no fix to this? just in case its an AMD radeon RX 5700XT, and i have tried everything and tested it and nothing is wrong with it. its literally just final fantasy.

If you are getting weird screen flickering and texture issue, my bet would be failing GPU. Not every application stresses the GPU the same way, so that's not really a good comparison.

You can try reinstalling the game first, but my bet would be that, or PSU.

Google the DX11 crash code first, then go from there. Make sure you have a good, stable driver version, check your power cable connections into the card, make sure it is fully seated in the PCI-e slot, then use DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) for a clean driver install with whatever stable driver version you downloaded.

My wife has a RX 5700, and there are just some driver versions that didn't play nicely with the card at all, so I had to do a little digging to find one that was relatively bug free for her. Also, if all those steps fail and the issues continue, you might look into RMA'ing that card back to the manufacturer.

it has to be the version, because i can play other games for hours and it doesn't do the problem that it has with FF. it sucks but i dont know what to do with it, its also random once i restart the game it stops.

I had similar issues with an RX5700 too. Tried everything that SE and AMD suggested and still had issues (in end turned out to be faulty chip on board but couldn't get replacement so exchanged for a Nvidia card in the end). Aside from what Barristan has suggested you could also try the following:

    1. Ensure that the card is not overclocked in any way. I think there is some suggestions to underclock it slightly (you'd have to Google this as don't have refs to hand).
    2. Adjust display rate - especially if using Freesync (turn Freesync off!) - I dropped it down to 60Hz and this did seem to help (not completely stop the problems but helped reduce the number of crashes).
    3. Ensure your Antivirus is not set to actively scan your driver or FFXIV folders (some cause issues with the directx files from what I've seen).
    4. Ensure the AMD overlay is not enabled.

Hope you get it sorted soon
