Confusion about the Change of Arms Quest

Hey FFXIV Dev team and players,
I'm a little confused by the decision to incorporate Crystal Tower raids into the "Change of Arms" 5.4 quest for the new relic quest line. I understand the team has extra pressure from Covid and there's limited resources/time, but up until now relics have incorporated much more current content. I do understand that we want to keep old content fresh for new players--love having fresh faces join the game. But Crystal Tower? I'm not gonna lie. I let out a big "UGH" when seeing I have to farm crystal tower raids. For that part of the relic, why not make the items much easier to get in Bozja and make it 2 guaranteed from castrum? I've seen lots of new players complain they can't get castrum completed, so we need reasons to keep it fresh. Or if people want an option to get the loathsome memories outside of Bozja, that's fine! Just please not Crystal Tower; the content is already done hundreds of times a day every day via alliance roulette. New players won't have any problems completing Crystal Tower content. I'm even understanding about the HW and SB alliance raids in the next step. Alliance raid roulette has been needing more variety for a long time.

I fully agree. Why is the drop rate from CURRENT CONTENT not 100%? I went back into Bozja after accepting this quest, and completed 10 CE's only to have 0 Loathsome Memories drop. I appreciate there being a way to acquire these items outside of Bozja, but why is that alternative way the option that's guaranteed to drop these memories? As it stands right now, with every job at 80 and my resistance rank at 15, I have zero reason to go to Bozja besides to do the weekly Delubrum Reginae quest. At least with the previous relic steps I could go into Bozja to farm clusters and get the memories as a bonus, which I found more compelling than farming HW FATE's. So at this point I will be farming the Crystal Tower raids 225 times for ShB relics, feels bad man!

Honestly, I feel the same. Crystal Tower Alliance has been added to so much that it is overkill. It really feels like another BIG over-correction. I was playing when it was near impossible to get into CT because there was no roulette and no other reason to go in there after the gear became outdated. But now, every time I see any of the Crystal Tower raids pop in Alliance Roulette, I want to take the 30 minute penalty because the push to go in here as killed any joy I have gotten from doing those fights.

I actually really enjoy Castrum in Bozja but it is now almost impossible to get enough people to sign up for it in any instance I have been in for some time now. And the drop rate in BSF is ridiculous for memories.

I don't know if I will ever even try for all the weapons now that I know I have to do Crystal Tower 225 times....
