How do we think the island thing will work?

I haven’t heard much about the island thing that’s coming, the harvest moon comparison some are making, my main fear is that it will be like trying to get a house in this game, impossible and not instanced like it should be.

With that said I’m excited to see what they do with this, we don’t have a lot of info on this new feature so we can only speculate. I’m excited to have a small farm for my botanist and other classes.

How ever I fear that if they do it the same was as housing wards, has any one tried to get a house, it will be only for those who have 24 hours a day to sit and click and click and click only to not get in because some other bot/player was faster.

How do you think this island farm, sanctuary thing will work?

I am seriously hoping that it's an instanced housing.

I'm assuming it'll work similar to the Mog Garden system from XI that it's apparently emulating, based on the description we've been given. An instanced area with gathering/gardening/fishing nodes that you cultivate (level up) over time as you use it more and more along with an area to raise pets to get various rewards from them. Though since this game already has minions they may use them for the animal rearing system instead of making unique baby forms of the many animals you could raise.

I am seriously hoping that it's an instanced housing.

It would be nice if we could get something to that end.

What I'm kind of hoping for:
-Instanced zone that is basically a farm where your minions/mounts can wander around.
-Ability to build, and upgrade, a house(start with a "shack" that is the apartment interior, upgrade to a small, medium, then large...maybe even make it so you can have it a FC zone to have more houses for only FC members - highly unlikely any of the stuff I say about housing will be true...but I can dream!).
-Garden plots for people to have access to, or a greenhouse people can purchase, and have an instanced garden zone for their own use

If it's not that's going to be a missed opportunity and frankly would make me lose any faith that SE know what they're doing when it comes to housing. The current housing content itself is great (furnishing, workshop, etc) but the acquisition methods and availability issues are abysmal.

Even if it doesn't have a house I'll enjoy the content anyway. I'm a huge fan of games with mechanics like those suggested by the teaser...but I am one of the lucky players who has a house already. I know that anyone who doesn't have a house and wants one is hoping so much that the island will provide this.
