Very excited to go there!
Very excited to go there!
A positive thread, here?
Being serious, yeah I'm excited for it. It looks better than I imagined it to look.

I'm loving Radz-at-Han, I've wanted to go to Thavnair for a while with its Middle Eastern (although particularly Indian) aesthetic, alchemy, Dancers...
I'm pleasantly surprised.

*stands up in audience, chanting* LORE! LORE! LORE! LORE! LORE!
(More lore please.)
I aim to make my posts engaging and entertaining, even when you might not agree with me. And failing that, I'll just be very, VERY wordy.Originally Posted by Packetdancer

VERY excited about it!! It's colorful and the funky design of the city is so appealing to me~ Also loooooore!!!

I was expecting more of a middle eastern vibe than a mezo american.

First up, let's repost the picture of the city.

The world map icons seem artistic rather than practical - the cities almost certainly aren't to scale, so I wouldn't have taken it as an indicator of location beyond "somewhere roughly around here (give or take a few thousand malms)".
It doesn't have the same feel to me. All of those are generally building upwards from the rock base; Radz-at-Han seems to be building outwards instead. It looks odd and stubby, not to mention precarious. It looks like whole sections of buildings could break off and plummet to the ground.
It is (or at least I had the impression that it is) the major international trading hub for an island nation, and would have been established before air travel was common or even possible. It seems like it would logically have to be situated at a place where ships can access - either on the coast or along a river.
The fortress-like position on top of the mountain seems highly impractical for bringing goods in and out. You have to deliberately go there, rather than it being a convenient place to trade and do business, and there aren't even visible docks or roads around it. It looks like it's out in the wilderness.
I did also imagine it being more of a desert region, but that just makes it more likely that settlements will form in places where there is access to water.
I also think people have talked about taking a ship to or from Radz-at-Han rather than generally to Thavnair, but I don't have the quotes to see exactly what was said.

Honestly, I think it looks fantastic. Love the popping colours. Been wondering about the embassy in Kugane for the longest time.
I'm extremely excited for Radz-at-Han! I'm a bit bummed out that it's the "smaller" of the two towns, but I hope we'll get to visit the surrounding region of Thavnair as well. The city itself looks gorgeous and I can't wait to visit. Hopefully this means we'll be seeing more Thavnairian-themed armor and housing items.
