Rest In Peace, sweet belts.
Now it's time to pester ask the devs what the plan is for the Speed Belt in Eureka that many have spent tons of time and/or gil to attain.

They'll still be useful for longer than half a year, but I hope they plan to replace it with something else once belts are done in 6.0.

Could we trade it for an 8th Magicite? A Speed Ring? A Cassie Earring upgrade?

There are some good options. I think they said they're going to talk about the belt issue/answer questions about it at some point in the future. Hopefully we can talk to the devs about the Speed Belt then.

My fiancee brought something up to me just now; repacing belts with something like backpacks, etc. Whatever could go on your back (she likes the idea of wings)
I'm personally not a fan on the wing idea merely because I don't wanna see cat girl-demon-angel-whatever else hybrid characters everywhere, but just a thought, perhaps?

That would be neat, but most jobs store their weapons / tools on their back.
(DRG, BRD, MCH, PLD, DRK, GNB, WAR, AST, WHM, & BLM, along with many DoL and DoH jobs too)


Additionally, if SQEX were planning on adding a new item category like this, I don't think they would be moving the slots to weapons and rings inventory space.
