Why are you acting like these FFXIV youtubers kicked your dog or something? I'm pretty sure they didn't make any of these imaginary claims of them being special lol. Were you somehow expecting them to be able to 100% predict the future when it comes to FFXIV or something? There's a reason it's called speculating. This honestly just comes off as you being salty because they profit off of streaming the game and make content that surrounds the game.

Yes, many (but not all!) predictions were wrong. But are prediction videos a waste of time? Even if they're wrong, I don't think it's a waste of time if there's an audience out there that finds these videos entertaining.

These youtube videos are free to watch (or not watch, if you want) and wild speculation can be fun.

If some of the youtubers were acting arrogant or overconfident about their predictions, I can see why you'd criticize that. But I think this kind of content is probably going to keep happening. Since so many of us often wonder and ask what's coming next, I don't see why the speculating should stop!

Also why were you pumped for geomancer and chemist? Presumably because they were what mr happy said we were getting. And then the whole community starts to expect that, and you get pumped for it.

But why? He has never made a correct prediction ever that I have seen. You may as well have listened to any other player who plays the game which one of the obvious on the table jobs that are likely making it at some point, they think will get in this time.

Another gripe thread? Really? Maybe the viewers have fun guessing what jobs will be for future expansions, whether right or wrong. Predictions are just what they imply. A forecast of possibilities, not certainties. Geesh! Maybe you should stick with the WoW streaming channels predicting FFXIV's future content for accuracy and stop watching Mr. Happy. I think you'll find Mr. Happy or the others you mentioned won't shed a tear if you do.

Thats probly the issue here....you're treating them as a Contracted News Channel with heavily researched material to back up their claims.
Nah, these are youtubers who are players of the game and final fantasy fans like the rest of us.
They know nothing more then any of us, and as far as I know there isn't a single figure who gets insider information.

I mean that's what entertainment is, and it's their job as someone that creates content.
And I actually enjoy watching folks speculations for fun. I wouldn't say it was a waste.

I think a lot of the issues here is how you perceive things. They are ffxiv news channels in a way as they post videos on news that the ffxiv team announce. Noone has contacts or insider information as that isn't how the ffxiv team do things, they pretty much control how info is released. Leaks are rare and the team for the most part keep things close to the chest. They do allow certain ffxiv youtubers to try out a new expansion before it is released but they are under NDA and can't post videos about it till a few weeks before release. It isn't like they are employees of SE or have inside knowledge. I never seen any of them say in a video, where they are predicting or speculating things, that their view is 100% fact or that is what with out a doubt will happen. Its more like based on what we know they feel/think this or that will happen.

Probably because it can be fun to think about what might come next, especially if you have a following as a youtuber you can see some interesting things being thought off in the comments that you didn't think of yourself!
