FF Youtubers are always wrong

You misunderstand the point of my post. This isn’t me asking why they weren’t right. It’s me asking why they act like they are experts here when they guess everything wrong every single time. And why they can make money doing so. And why people in similar positions for other games have a far better success rate.

Because they spend the time recording and uploading videos, and people watch them. Whether you like it or not. Anyone here can do the same, they could even make their unique content for YouTube, or follow the trends and also potentially make money. Maybe the people criticizing this content would offer up more accurate predictions? I somehow doubt it though.

I was blindsided by sage and not geomancer, but honestly I'm rather delighted to be wrong.

YTers are able to have opinions and have guesswork all they want. There's fun to be had in speculation and theory crafting on what is coming next. It's when you watched those videos and saw them as definite fact is what's wrong.

I was pumped for geomancer and chemist. I'm even more pumped for sage and whatever this new melee is!

But why? He has never made a correct prediction ever that I have seen. You may as well have listened to any other player who plays the game which one of the obvious on the table jobs that are likely making it at some point, they think will get in this time.

Because they were two jobs that were hinted at in the MSQ. Geomancer took the spotlight in the AST 60-80 story. I don't watch anything ffxiv related on YT. They got these predictions from somewhere, the same place I did if we were all parotting the same thing!

Another gripe thread? Really? Maybe the viewers have fun guessing what jobs will be for future expansions, whether right or wrong. Predictions are just what they imply. A forecast of possibilities, not certainties. Geesh! Maybe you should stick with the WoW streaming channels predicting FFXIV's future content for accuracy and stop watching Mr. Happy. I think you'll find Mr. Happy or the others you mentioned won't shed a tear if you do.

It’s about why mr happy gets everything wrong every time but his counterpart on WoW gets at least half of it right everytime. That’s my question. I know a lot of the WoW youtubers have contacts but it just seems to me they have a much higher quality of content creators in general, presumably because there’s more competition.

FFXIV attracts a different kind of player, or viewer, and these people are obviously catering to that.

No they're not, overwatch community is waiting for months for any news on overwatch 2 and then they start making a lot of predictions based on a lot of leaks that end up not being true and so ppl was expecting overwatch 2 beta to start now on blizzcon and it seems that it won't even start this year.

I mean, it can't be that everyone has forgotten how somebody leaked BLU coming and not being a "full" job, the bosses of the Omega raid series and probably most notable of all; how ShB was getting Viera and a new lion-race.

I thought there were a lot of predictions about the Moon, I think even more than predictions for Sharlayan. Garlemald was also predicted. Also, a Healer and DPS were also predicted, though you cannot fault people for thinking Chemist, since it was featured so prominently in MSQ.

He specifically predicted healer and Caster DPS. But who didn’t predict healer really? Same with Garlemald, which I don’t remember him predicting but it’s pretty much obvious at this point that we go there at some point.

If you throw enough guesses at obvious things such as FFV jobs, and known locations in lore, you’re going to get some right. But they take an hour to go over all the reasoning for why they’re clearly right. I remember someone going through every line of the poem that was sent out and linking it to the name forespoken and talking like he had some phd in final fantasy or something.

And when you do that, you lose credibility. Have to be really clear with people that these are just guesses and like for example that Meoni guy talks like he’s an expert. But he’s just a guy who has a channel, and his knowledge is no more than mine or yours.

I do like the creators who just stick to talking about what they like to do and review glamours and things but the ‘news’ side of the FFXIV community severely lacks in comparison to that of other MMOs in my opinion.
