Oh. Oh no, are you the reincarnation of Whats-her-face, the kooky Forum Princess Healer from Heavensward? The one who spent pages and pages ranting that regens were for the explicit purpose of countering poison or bleed ONLY, and that using them on regular damage was "cheating"? And consequently using the time windows opened by this efficiency gain to deal damage were also "cheating", as was doing anything other than spamming Cure because that was, ahem, "the developer's intent", and she was the only healer "playing correctly/not cheating"?
(I swear to god this person was real, those threads were a riot)
Nice attempt at being funny and showing how much of a apparent drama queen you are, no post after had no one bad mouthing anyone for a good couple hours , but here comes you the karen from walmart who need everyone to notice her *waves*. who said anything of spamming cure, who said anything about poison or bleed? Go get a check up you sound like a looney toon. You cant even remember the person your speaking about to make your self more riri.Oh. That's fair I was just pointing out that there was at least one savage aoe that would instant kill a group.. minus the tanks.. and a lot of blind players an day one poggers were taken by suprise by that very aoe instant downing them
The "welcome to savage" aoe within the first 15sec is a staple though, so if I see a cast within that time frame I slap whatever mitigation I have on it. It's like 90% certain that it's the classic raidwide. Spreading out mitigation more afterwards is always an option but better to overmitigate it on a whim than die to it.
The damage was surprisingly high but the aoe itself was nothing you couldn't anticipate going in blind. And after the first try ended after 12s or something, it was easy enough to keep in mind from then on.

I'll never understand this argument lol
Heal over time is strong, but so are shields. I have played both and I always seem to favor Diurnal, especially with Neutral Sect offering the best of both worlds. I really do like Noct, but not as much as Diurnal.
Heck I have even had tanks ask me to switch before extreme fights, and I didn't put up a fight. Just had to change gears and remember the way Noct plays.
Diurnal is great
Noct is great
Diurnal wins in the end for 6.0. Which i'm kind of thankful for, as if I would have to play Noct only on AST I would probably changed to WHM or Sage if it was a pure healer. Sage being another shield healer makes me appreciate AST even more, now that focus can shift to cards which is why I started the class in the first place. RIP time mechanics
Change to Sage or Scholar for shields.
The question then becomes "how much mitigation is needed to survive it?" or better yet "how much damage does it need to do to get through most of the mitigation?" Just think about how much mitigation can be reasonably applied to that one attack before Barrier Healer Shields are needed: Divine Veil/Shake It Off (15% hp or more shield), Dark Missionary/Heart of Light (-10% damage taken), Reprisal (-10% damage dealt), Temperance/Collective Unconscious (Diurnal) (-10% damage taken), Sacred Soil+Illumination/Collective Unconscious (Noct) (-10%+-5% or -20% damage taken) and Addle (-10% damage dealt).A once every 120s "Raidwiper" Raidwide needs to deal at least 240% of a healer/dps' max hp to enforce Barrier Healer shield use for survival.
- ~81% damage dealt
- ~58% to ~.62% damage taken
- 115% max hp
