You know, someone mentioned, jokingly, in another thread that it could be Odin.

Now that I think about it, that doesn't seem too impossible. The Allagan Empire could have sealed the "Elder Primal" Odin into Dalamud then tossed his ass into Orbit...

Sounds feasible enough. Which would be why, in 2.0, he's all of a sudden roaming the lands freely.
