Is it even possible to do Operation Archon?

I don't know people, I am new to this old game. Is it even possible to finish an 8 men one time scenario nowadays? Two days I've been waiting for it to happen, stucking at a Main Scenario called Operation Archon. How about changing it to a 4 men run. One thing discourage me the most is that I am the only one wanted to do a specific "raid".

Did you try to set all languages on duty finder settings? It should start at roulette reset, if you queue 5 minutes and you're dps, it's normal.

Or, alternatively, you could find a higher level player and see if they can run you through it unsynced, as it's really easy to do so that way (as a new player you would be able to watch the cutscenes unhindered at least).

I get it pretty regularly in my trial roulette... the queue may take quite a bit of time, especially as dps, as long as 10-20 minutes, but they do happen consistently. It is a very very very VERY easy roulette for those that get it, so it is definitely not undesired. Make sure you have all languages available, and keep queueing. I promise you those clears do absolutely happen, even if you may have to wait forever to get into it.

I haven't been able to beat the new SOLO version of Operation Archon either. I tried my best I can get to stage three of the boss and then die with barely having a chance to cast. If this isn't fixed I am going to quit and play the WoW expansion and EverQuest2. I loved the game up until this point, it was perfect, I don't want to have to quit before the game is done.

Please fix this, I selected Very Easy and it is still very hard. Once I get to level 90, I will be spending money in the shop but not before I beat the Virgin game.

How do I do Operation Archon as a raid Quest? The quest presents itself as a solo quest, Online it shows as a Raid or Solo Quest. I've attempted Operation Archon Solo like ten times, there are 4 parts and I can't beat the 3rd phase.

Cape Westwind isn't showing up in my Duty Finder, the only option it is giving me is Solo Entrance, I don't want to solo this, please fix it so it shows up in the Duty Finder. I want to do the Cape Westwind version of him but it is making me solo him.

Is your gear up to date? Also since 6.1 it was changed from an eight man trial to a solo fight.

So ill start by answering the easiest question. The old version of the fight doesnt exist anymore. That doesnt mean we cant get you past this one though. For the time being, everything i write will be assuming that you intend to do this fight on your highest level class - your black mage. So i started by looking at your gear via a character search. Most of your gear is fine(well above what anyone would normally have when doing the fight), but im curious what your thought process is for the weapon. Its easily your worst piece, and weapon is the most important upgrade to make in terms of upgrading your damage(this is true for every class, not just BLM). Something as cheap as a Yeti Staff(hq) will likely make a much bigger difference for your spell damage then you might guess, and the shield isnt really benefiting you like you might have hoped. The devs decided that BLM(and WHM too actually) were better served by using 2-handed staves/canes, and moving forward the 1h+shield option is no longer available.

Beyond that, what part of the fight is actually killing you? I watched the video you linked, and it seemed like a fairly straightforward fight to win(and indeed, the SAM did win). Slow easy to read attack telegraphs, nothing super tricky. One lesson every BLM must learn when doing solo fights is that sometimes breaking off a cast is better then eating an attack. And once he starts setting down those big patterns, he seems to mostly stand still for a bit to set them off - plenty of time to get in some hits after getting out of the way. Other "new player traps" ive seen include kiting. In general, it doesnt work so dont bother. It causes you to lose a ton of attacks, while the enemy isnt actually that put off. When you dont need to dodge a big move, stand your ground. You can hit Surecast if youre getting interrupted a lot(typically isnt an issue), and it might not be obvious but BLMs actually have the best defensive move in the game outside of the tank classes - Manaward. Being able to pick and choose where you can just strategically ignore a move because it wont overcome your shield is amazing. Im guessing its a very strong move to pop at the start of the last phase.

And the final thing to consider is rotation. The BLM rotation at 50 is easy enough, but the way the spells are worded causes some players to mistake the way they are meant to be used. The simplified version you should use would be this: Bliz3 Thun3 Fire3 Fire1 F1 F1 F1 F1 F1 B3 and repeat. If you get any Firestarter procs add them in. At higher levels you sometimes want to save them to give you a spell to cast while running, but for a fight like this a lost second or two of uptime isnt the end of the world. For Thundercloud procs, try to save them to replace the next T3 you need to cast(though using them early isnt the end of the world either). I can explain the theory behind all of this if it doesnt make sense, and while there is a less simplified version this should be more then enough to handle this fight. And finally, old caster adage: ABC - Always Be Casting. If you arent moving to dodge an attack, you should be flinging a spell every second of the fight.

If all that isnt enough to get the old Roe down, then something is missing and you need to provide more info.
