    PS account got banned.

So i'm clueless on what to do next... My PS account got banned because there's an unauthorized purchased (got hacked) that I declined. So sony decided to ban my account. I tried to retrieve it but the operator said I need to pay for those purchases (140$, for genres I don't even play, also they're unauthorized and my account was hacked) . Then one operator instructed me to submit an account charge back ticket, it didn't work and told me to try again some other time (she must be clueless on what to do next as well).

I want to play back on my PS4 and going to someday upgrade it to PS5. Is there a way to unassociate my steam account and PS account?

If anyone had a relatable experience before or know someone that had the same experience will be a great help on the next steps that I should take, please let me know.

It was probably a chargeback on your card initiated by the bank automatically when you reported that your account had been hacked (basically the bank is demanding Sony pay the money back to the bank that was paid towards your PSN subscription), causing Sony to ban your PSN account (SE does the same thing if a chargeback is initiated for an FFXIV subscription or Mogstation purchase, in that your entire FFXIV account is locked forever with no chance of recovery - I've seen a number of players over the years mentioning how this has happened to them.).

The only thing I can suggest is to cut your losses with the PS4 version and invest in the PC (non Steam) version of the game as I think your PS version is a lost cause, unless you create an entirelly new PSN account on your system, although Sony might have ways to block that.

That is the problem with charge backs. They are there to help you, but most online vendors will perma ban you for using it. It is common practice with most mmos/online platforms.

My account was hacked back in the ffxi days as well with a keylogger that was placed on a fan site, and ended up having server transfers and all kinds of stuff charged. All I got from SE was if I do a charge back for illegitimate charges that were made on it my account will be permanently suspended. Even though they agreed the account was compromised and reset the password and stuff for me, they stated the transactions during that time though were legitimate.... SE does that, Playstation does that as well, I believe steam has the same policy for chargebacks.

It is there to prevent people from abusing the chargeback system to get free game time and free stuff, but it does screw over the people who actually get hacked.

Honestly I think you are basically screwed though. Nothing you can really do. Why with video game things have to weigh what causes more dmg the illegitimate charges or the charge back penalties. We can all thank the trash who abuse the system for screwing over those who actually are effected by real issues.
