Targeting aura

Is there a way to turn this off? It looks horrible having this yellow glow around whatever im looking at.

-edit- Ah, I see now. It was on even though it was set to off in the configuration. Toggling it twice fixed it.

People swore to me that this 'always' existed. I didn't believe them. Then I saw that it didn't exist on my boyfriend's computer, so somehow it was only turned on on mine... I didn't even know auras existed until this point. I hate them too.

Assuming no way to turn off both the yellow glow and the flashing? Hate hate hate them both.

Gotta say, really hate the effect.
Can confirm toggling on and off got rid of it. Had me worried for a minute there.

It's not necessarily the 'aura' effect I hate. The idea of it is actually pretty cool -- it's easier to see things you are targeting. What I hate is how terrible it looks graphic-wise. I am convinced that they could have done a better job with this. We have these amazing renderings of realistic characters... and cartoon chalky lines for auras? They remind me of the auras you'd see on avatars in FFXI (Fenrir especially... remember the THICK blue aura?)
