No, for ALC, the tool is the little device they whip out and put on the top of the big furnace thing when they craft. The furnace below it is the "table" part that other classes don't have a glow for. It is inconsistent. Regardless of what an "actual" alembic is, in FFXIV, the alembic is the little grenade thing you hold in your hand.

Well, this inconsistency has been around since the first generation of golden glowing Blessed tools ages ago. It's just that nobody officially complained about it, so it persisted along the 2nd generation blueish silver Blessed tools, and until now.

It was never a major problem so other more urgent issues (such as the need for harder recipes and better rewards) were prioritized to be discussed and addressed.

It actually puzzles me why they did that big crafting table glow only to ALC alone. If you say the alembic is small, so it needs more glow on the crafting table, then the LTW and GSM tools are quite small as well. I wish they'd just make every class glow like that.

They did it for a very obvious reason- the alembic is right where the "crafting glow" is.

Crafting glow = the ball of light that changes color depending on the current quality- White for normal, red for good, multi-colored for excellent, and black for poor.

That is RIGHT over the alembic. It would completely cover and obscure any glow from the alembic. This is clear, provable, and obvious. You would work your butt off for a glowing ALC tool only to have it be obscured by the "crafting glow".

It's not an inconsistency. They made the "table" glow in order to allow the ALC to enjoy his or her hard work.
