So I find this bit from an interview that was done back in January. (Its google translate from Japanese, so beware incorrect translations.) https://dengekionline.com/articles/26085/

"After clearing, you will use materials to strengthen Gunhild's sword, but this time we have made it possible to obtain strengthening materials for contents other than the Save the Queen series.

In the previous forbidden land, Eureka, there was feedback that "only Eureka has the means to strengthen weapons and armor, so it is frustrating." The equipment enhancement content up to "Kuren Hen" was completed if we proceeded steadily even solo, but the reason is that the forbidden land Eureka was premised on party play. We thought that it would be better to have a form that can be enhanced while playing the content, but it was stressful for those who do not do the forbidden land Eureka.

Therefore, this time, not only the dedicated field but also other contents are available, and both can be strengthened. From here on, there is a strong element of interaction, so I hope people who like that kind of thing will enjoy it."

Now they have made it required out of nowhere and its annoying because I sank time into fate farming, because I tried Bozja and did not enjoy it. Now I have to do it because in the Patch Notes for 5.45 says Fit for a Queen is required, which requires the completion of Castrum Lacus Litore. I'm just aggravated that I sank time into something to avoid something I didn't like and now I'm forced to do something they said I wouldn't have to do.

They always said that you would have to do the Save the Queen questline to progress with the Relic, no matter how you gather the materials. Check the translation from the May Live Letter. People just chose to ignore that little fact and now claim different.

I'm taking Lore way too seriously. And I'm not sorry about that.

    Yep, same.

Not a single finished Eureka relic and won't have a single finished Bozja resistance weapon.

The only way I can protest their tying these things to instanced zones with short shelf lives is to just not do them. They obviously are not paying attention to EU and NA feedback. Or they are intentionally pretending to misunderstand it. See now they can point at this and go "But you can get the drops outside, that's what you wanted, right!?" which completely misses the point. They won't add this zone and let it stand on its own two feet. They have to falsely prop up the popularity by putting a highly desired item in there. And then they put in steps to completely turn off the part of the player base that item is supposed to be aimed at.

The highly coveted item IS what makes a zone stand on it's own two feet. If there's nothing of value to be gained, people will definitely move onto other things as soon as they've finished it and the content will be extra dead. I'm sure they'll come up with a way to make bozja still doable even after 6.0 comes out. People are still making Eureka weapons just fine. It's true that Eureka didn't have anything like castrum, but I'm sure they'll do something to make it doable when population drops off.

No, they're falsely associating it to drive people to their bad content. If it's content that would die without forcing people into it, then it needs to die to show them that people don't want that content and let them see the areas where they need to improve. They're jobbing the numbers and then patting themselves on the back that the zone is so successful when there are so many people who do it through gritted teeth. That's not going to endear you to your playerbase.

They're bozjan resistance weapons bruh they have a direct impact and association with the story of the zone and particularly the bosses in the new dungeon. This isn't a false association with the content, it's the only association that matters.

Also I don't really think people banging their heads against a wall and not using the resources the zone gives you is entirely on square enix's fault. If I give you food and you don't eat it and starve to death, that's only my responsibility if you didn't understand it was food and I didn't explain it, y'know? So basically what I'm saying is, pop an essence. Try to pick one that isn't platebringer.

A funny theory my friend mentioned was that they made the alternative method to accompany the new Free Trial version.

All they would have to do is make a que that didn't take a random 60 to 90 minutes to pop outside of the zone. Like they did with the next step. And possibly, eventually, get rid of the mettle loss on death if it comes to that. But to ask someone to wait that long just for a chance to fail, not everyone has that kind of time. Some of us have actual lives outside of an mmo.

You had 3 months to reach level 10 and clear Bodzja. Before crying, remember this. 3 months for clearing the content.

Way to completely miss the point. Ranking up mettle is tedious but it's doable and not the real problem, the way Castrum Lacus Litore works is the problem. The way the encounter is designed makes it rare that it gets successfully cleared, or even ends up started when it comes up, because of the lack of people queuing. We arguably didn't have three months, we had two maybe three weeks after release to have a reasonable chance to get it done while everyone else was trying to do it, because the majority of people stopped wanting to do it at all. There's a bunch of people trying to do it now, but it's still apparently not enough to get enough people queuing for it, let alone enough to clear it.

I'm done my mettle grind, all there is left to do for me right now is sitting around inside Bozjan front waiting for Castrum to come up and very likely inevitably either not have enough people for it to start or for it to fail. There's always either still not enough people in the encounter or enough who know the encounter well enough to get it cleared, because most people who have done it don't want to go near it anymore. I wasted over two hours yesterday sitting around waiting in Bozjan front only to add two more failed Castrums to my count. How is this at all good design? At least let people queue for it from outside Bozjan front so they play the game between attempts.
