    Hrothgar "Clans" Make No Sense

For one, they are biologically different (Helions have round pupils while The Lost have slit pupils, for one example), but the different clans are about whether they have a living queen or not. The thing is, this doesn't make sense because Radovan, one of the main NPCs for the Gunbreaker job quests, is biologically a Helion but has lost his queen.

I think a better backstory for each clan would be that The Lost had been without a queen for many generations and had divergent evolution dealing with them being more solitary, while the Helions, while having lost a queen once in a while still had a queen more often (I'm probably not making sense, I'm sorry)

There was definitely something in lore notes somewhere about it. Something about non-Hrothgar people misunderstanding the clans thing and thinking it's based on appearance (as with the official labels) when it's actually more complex.

Yeah, it's been confirmed helions and the lost is more a thing that scholars misunderstood about hrothgar and attributed to their people anyway.

Though Hrothgar form their own clan-like communities, they, as a race, cannot be divided into distinct “clans” with separate traditions and features. They are instead most often sorted into the categories of “Helion” and “Lost,” according to their social status─but these labels, too, were imposed by scholars of the other races rather than the Hrothgar themselves, and have unfortunately led to certain misconceptions, such as the popular belief that Helions always have golden fur.
From the naming convention post at the top of this forum.

Hrothgar are not differentiated between by which tribe they hail from, they are differentiated between by whether or not they currently are in service to a queen. The "tribal" differences are there for the Doylist purpose of every race having two different clans to choose between; that, and letting people make Kimahri expy characters.

Further the Hrothgar naming standards appear to have been used by Bozjans in general, if Misija's name is anything to go by.

The "Kimahri expy" model doesn't look that much like him to me. I think it's the least appealing of the Hrothgar designs, and I haven't seen many people use it.

The problem with trying to make a Kimahri is the way the Hrothgar models were made makes it impossible.

Hrothgar use edited male Roegadyn models, modified with unique heads, a slight hunch to the back, and the clawed hands pose of male Miqo'te. Unfortunately, male Roegadyn do not have the athletic physique of Kimahri (they're much stockier), so... yeah, you can't actually replicate Kimahri, despite Hrothgar being called "Ronso" over on the First.

The hunch makes for some funny shenanigans during certain cutscenes, like the one where you're given a drink by Lowdy before the peace summit at Falcon's Nest. Everyone else drinks it, but since Hrothgar use altered Roegadyn models that lower their head just a bit, it looks like they're splashing said drink in their eyes.

I haven't even looked at the body; the face just doesn't look like him as far as I can remember. I think I directly compared them at one point and it's just not him.

As for the hunch doing funny things, I haven't played as a Hrothgar but I got one as a retainer for an alt, and he's so in-your-face compared to the others because the hunch makes him effectively stand a foot or so closer to you than someone standing upright. He looms over my Miqo'te. It's sort of uncomfortable.
