Desynthesizing low priced items, it's worth it!

So I've been a little annoyed with the prices on some of the stuff sold on the market board. Today I bought 42 Stuffed Alphas at a cost of less than 40K (probably closer to half that price). I desynthesized them, to check how much I would loose. Well, if I sold all of these items on the MB, even with todays prices, I'd make a decent profit.

On Spriggan that would easily fetch me 140K. That's a profit of at least 100K.

Folks, have you forgotten desynthesizing?

This was on my carpenter, with a skill of 252.09, not sure how much better I would do with my culinarian with a skill of 465.00.

It actually would have been using your WVR desynthesis skill even though you had CRP equipped. Class restrictions still apply for desynthesis and repair but you don't have to have that class active except for recipes.

I would imagine many of the players listing the Stuffed Alphas and other items don't have the required crafting class leveled to at least 30. Not everyone bothers with crafting. Works fine as far as I'm concerned, it gives me access to cheap items I can use to level desynthesis on my alts and sometimes useful materials for making other items.

This is why I wish more items were desynthable. It can really help stabilize some prices as well as help market glut.
Then again, if prices are sold under NPC resell, I can buy them and resell them to an NPC or the Doman Enclave.

I just use my desynth skill for ex trial stuffs when exchanging totems for items like shinyu weapons; erm well shields because 3 totems to spend rather than 10.
Way better profit, don't even need to spend gil, and sells for 500k-800k each instead.
Can sell 1-5 scales a day.
