Worth buying Exarchic set?

Is it worth buying the Exarchic set or armor for a fresh level 80?

at this point in the games patch cycle we're nearly to the end of the expansion. are you going to be savage raiding? if you are, go get some exarchic 510 gear and get at it.

if not, then just casually cap your revelation tomestones every week and get 520 gear over time. Can get some more 520 gear when the last 24 man Nier raid drops in 5.5.

also getting 520 gear will become easier later on when the during the final weeks of the expansion before 6.0 launches when they raise the tomestone weekly cap to 900 from 450.

You can check for Neo Ishgardian set, they should be cheaper.
Neo Ishgardian accessories + free AF set from role quest should be fine for new player I think.
As you progress through endgame content, you IL will gradually increased from items you got along the way.

But If you can afford Exarchic set, I recommend to do so. You won't have IL requirement problem for the most of content and help you progress easier.

It really depends on what you plan to do at end game. Higher item level will help make casual content easier but unless you're doing EX/Savage, 510 isn't truly needed.

Eventually you will replace it with 520 Cryptlurker tomestone gear or Savage gear but it will take several weeks to accumulate those. Or you might want the set for glamour.

If you have plenty of gil, go ahead and get it if you think it's worth it. If you have other things you also want to buy with your gil, better to save for those things and get less expensive gear to use while you're working on the tomestone gear.

Yes, the above. Get whatever you need to enter the content you want to do. If you want to start Eden savage then buy the Exarchic, otherwise you can get like puppets bunker or crystarium gear or something.

You’re going to be swapping it all out for revelation tomestone or savage raid gear so it’s just about meeting the ilvl requirements for content.

If you are doing savage and aren't having any issues with accessing content due to ilvl, I'd say no. Just gear up with Revelation tomestones and eden gear.

The 510 crafted set is DIRT CHEAP at the moment. In Aether's PF for 1M @ 11 PDT / 2 EDT.

I would expect a bit lower at prime time.
