Nope. Ew nope. I prefer what we have now over generic mediocre orchestrated ost #72915. I like the fact that FF titles are breaking away from that, because it was never really even their thing.
Well everyone has their own tastesAs long as the music suits 2.0 well, I've got nothing to complain about.

Sorry Karazaki, I gotta disagree there.
I like the new feel of the music, and if you like half the tracks, then that's more than enough. Most players will eventually mute the music to use their own anyways, I don't see why SE has to change their style.
I find these samples great, but darned if I want a sountrack to download and keep for my own.
Fair enough,Sorry Karazaki, I gotta disagree there.

I agreed with you on many points and I probably will warm up to the soundtrack eventually. However, I don't think it's "I don't see why SE has to change their style", but more that this new BGM (spanning all of XIV) IS them changing their style. Well, I guess I'll see what's what when 2.0 launches. As long as the BGM fits the areas well, I'll be happy![]()
I really like the new tracks but I still prefer the Uematsu style synth sound

That orchestra doesnt sound like FF for me. But for sure I like it anyway. Moogle Battle was just perfect.

i wonder if uematsu was fired lol. Whats wrong about his music? It was really the only great part of FFXIV when it first launched. No need to replace him. I like the music tho, but why not uematsu?

Definitely love the new tracks. I am most in love with 3+4.
I just really hope they do something with the dungeon music. The same old music for every dungeon that we grind over and over again gets old real fast. It'd be cool if they varied the dungeon music for each place (making remixes of the same song).

Uematsu wasn't fired. He works as a freelance composer for Happy Inc iirc. Either that or DogEarRecords. They probably hired him for XIV during the development phase, and now that Square Enix composers are free to work on other stuff (less XIII and XIII-2) they decided just to use their own employees rather than hire Uematsu.
