Concern About Doing Open World Solo Content As Dancer

Thinking about switching to Dancer as my main when I get ShB (or the current expansion, if ShB is no longer the current expansion), but my main concern is that the main part of DNC is buffing a DPS member of your party to make up for your comparatively low DPS. In open world solo content, I tend to use my Chocobo as a Healer (for Survivalbility), and thus it would not benefit from the DPS buff

Open world content tends to fold under burst damage, and dancer has one of the highest nukes available on a 30 second cooldown.

If healers can do open world content, a dps like DNC will have no problems doing so.

Open world content is so faceroll easy. I promise you will have no issues.
As a ast main here, I don't even need to like heal myself once for most open world stuff because things just die too fast, even as I tickle them to death.
    Buffs not even necessary either.

Get a chocobo if you are worried. As blm main as you gear as you level it gets easier. As others have said youll be fine

If you are lacking damage, on any dps job, in your quests, even on support dps, the problem is not the lack of partner. +5% dps on a chocobo ain't the reason that mob is dying slow, bud.

It's either your gear, or the PEBCAK.

As a dancer main and a previous bard main, all open world content is fairly easy. As far as solo instances in the story, those could be tricky at times because the helper npc AI is horrible. But with movement, patience and skill you can do the solo instances just fine too. "Support" jobs and healers are made with this content in mind. So if you know your job and have good gear, you can do any normal content.

Not entirely an accurate comparison. I had an easier time doing Heavesnward open world as a scholar than I did as a ninja, mostly because as a healer you can top up your health on demand, while DPS are also squishy but have fewer tools to keep themselves alive.

As a dancer, though, you'll get the damage buff even if you're not partnered with anyone. So there's no issue there. If it were me, I'd be more concerned about accidentally pulling more enemies when you do your dances.

Also I'll say that as far as open world enemies go, Heavensward was the hardest for its level. So if you made it through that, you'll make it through Stormblood and Shadowbringers.
