Only if it's optional. Most of my gardening is intercross and I don't want to be tied into an "all or nothing" UI.
Not really needed for planting. As mentioned, a lot of gardening is intercross and then you need to plant them one at a time anyway.
Now, if we could get a "Tend all plants at once" option, that would be really nice. I can't think of any time when you don't want to tend them all.
Seems limited, first means your plants need to all be G3S or G3T when you might want a mix. Sencond is too small to hit the soil box, already do a few misclicks with small things.
And with the first how do you do the first one of an intercross series? The one you normally plant and throw away because it has nothing to cross with.
Edit: likewise, if you have a 1 day plant like AzLav and then a longer one like Jute, how do you refresh the soil on the first?
First will never work, and current method is better than second.

They never said it would have to be the same exact seeds for every area. The concepts look similar to selection boxes, simply meant to allow you to put all the seed types you want into the appropriate squares and have them all planted at the same time.
Which would actually be far less annoyance than having to go one by one as we do currently. So I'm all for it, though making it an optional toggle somewhere wouldn't hurt either for those who like to do the slow method.
Could see the concept working so that partial planting is doable as well, for when you need to leave one type of finished plant in but replace the cardinals with new ones for intercrossing.
I'm still trying to figure out the intended benefits of your suggestion beyond having the option to plant the same seed/soil in every bed simultaneously. Maybe instead of trying to use a mockup of what the UI would look like, list step by step how you intend it to function.
I'll grant that it's kinda hard to maker out this fecal mock up, but that image there has a smaller soil selection on top of the seed location. That'll still allow for you to mix soils and seeds to allow for specific intercrossing and that sort of thing.
I suggested the one soil thing to kind of speed things up. I'm not sure how you would design a UI for 1 seed 1 soil for all and cross breeds/diff soils, but I'd like for it to exist.
Right now, function is:
Select bed
Select action (Plant/Harvest/Tend/Fertilize/Remove depending on current state of the bed)
If Plant, select seed and soil to use from inventory
If Fertilize, select pomace from inventory
Game then completes the requested action in that bed. If the player has more gardening to do, they select a new bed.
What would the steps be with your proposed UI?
As I said above, and I still hold it, the soil hit box is way too small. No way I could ever drag/drop soil there.
How do you remove a sparking plant? Is that done from the plant? If so, you have 2 differing methods for planting and harvesting. Likewise how is fertiliser applied in this screen?
It also seems to assume you will always click your plot from position 6 (Facing the scarecrows face) If your plot is rotated 90 degrees and you come in at point 4 or point 2 instead of point 6 does the orientation change so that the plants are lines up with the layout, or do you need to spend time making sure you are about to rip up the correct plant since the plants wont line up with the diagram then.
Edit: I guess the big one... how does it handle with a gamepad? Is it faster and easier to plant when you don't have a mouse to move randomly?

No, the OP is asking for more than just a window UI that duplicates the layout of a garden patch. He's specifically asking for a way to plant seeds simultaneously or to select a specific soil type for multiple beds while using different seeds. Try reading what he has posted instead of just looking at the mock up he has created.People in here are really just kinda ignoring the fact he's proposing a UI to take the place of manually clicking the beds placed in your yard; which is an absolute pain in the butt on gamepad if you have interactable things in your yard. That's the only difference here, there are no new steps, its the same thing. You just don't have to click the beds manually—which makes sense. Kind of amusing how hard it is for people to understand this concept when its pretty straightforward.
That said, I feel a change like this would be quite welcome. As selecting the individual beds is rather obnoxious when most other things in the game have some sort of UI element to go with them that streamlines the process. Gardening needs to catch up.
If you're having issues targeting, try standing in the middle of the garden patch with the camera looking down instead of standing outside of it looking across the patch horizontally.
We genuinely do not need more UI elements cluttering up our screens, especially ones that only duplicate what we're already able to do through normal interaction with the game world. It would be better to be removing some of these layers of menu blocking our view of the game world, not increasing them.
I would be happy if I didn't have to right click into a menu to water my plants. Stardew Valley already had this figured out.
I wouldn’t mind a complete overhaul. I stopped doing it because it’s a bit boring after a while and like anything in the game, the market isn’t consistent.
