I mentioned this information in another forum, however, my post was fairly deep within the thread and I beleive that many would probably never read that far. Thus I reinterate:
Since many players tend to prefer a WAR over a PLD, primarily due to their inately higher damage, I believe an ability that temporarily increases the physical/magical damage output (or Morale) of all party members would be perfect (since all of the paladin's most useful survival/hate holding abilities are aultruistic; PLD is all about helping the party in some means or manner). And to prevent the repercussions of increased party damage output on hate control, this ability would also provide a small group hate transfer to the paladin for the duration of the ability.
**For example, a 15%-25% physical/magical damage output increase and a ~7-10% hate transfer from each party member for 10-20 seconds. This ability would be on, at minimum, a 1 minute cooldown. Note that this ability would not increase the user's damage or modifiy the hate directly from the users (PLD's) own abilities/attacks**.
I believe this to be a decent means to repairing PLD's desirability within a party without the need to destroy warrior's DPS.
To end my statments, I've played so many MMO's and I've seen competative class archtypes (tanks/healers/dps/supporters) rise and fall from one expansion/patch to another. I believe that the developers will take one of three avaliable courses of actions due to the current predicament: Buff paladin, nurf warrior, or a combination of both. As a person who strives to master all forms of tanking in an mmo, I hope the developers take some time to consider their programing as well as the players veiwpoint concerning the usefullness of a class/job, and test extensivly before they release their upcoming patches.
