Not only SE will probably announce the new expac, but will also open the pre orders.

When the preorders open, the option to pre-order it (from steam or SE Store) should grant instant access to Stormblood and Shadowbringers.

That's my suggestion! I hope it happens. As I am finishing the heavensward storyline (with a subscription on), idk if I will buy Shadowbringers bc 6.0 will have it included.

So makes more sense (sells more pre-orders for 6.0 and keep players playing) if the access is granted immediately
