Remove Gender-Lock From Gear / Glamour Please

It'd be less of a problem if there wasn't such a drastic difference in the glamour! "You want skintight long gloves on boys? Too bad! You get cuffs." Like please... And I know this is just me but the recent glam boys' version isn't even like... good... in any way?

It's still such a ridiculous thing, cause they announced gender unlocking way back when yet they keep churning out separated stuff all the time. It's much like you said, it's not like the store is failing or not making enough money, there's no need to drop new outfits every two or three months. Take your time to make it available for all, then put it up.

Imagine thinking that only the US (and California in particular...?) have stopped caring about restrictive gender norms. Clothes are pieces of fabric, and even less than that in FF14 as it’s just pixels on a screen. I don’t see the problem in letting people wear whatever the hell they want honestly.

In the end here's why i just don't want to remove genderlocking everywere:

The only ones that gain a thing from this are players who players who play :
- females characters
- femboys (idk any other word you get the idea)

Males players who want manly stuff, gain nothing but have to share. But no one cares here right ?

I guess i should ony enjoy a 2P outfit and forget a potential good outfit for males. 9S outfit for every job? Nah no one want's that.

What? You and everyone else that's trying to defend genderlocking as good when it's literally less for everyone. Some males want dresses. Some female outfits aren't even skirts or dresses and would fit nicely in male glamour. (The Nezha female set comes to mind) There's so much "manly" stuff in this game already. And people afraid of "men in bikinis", we already have an extremely tight speedo for them, what's the difference? Why do people who play female characters who enjoy expressing themselves in suits and pants have to suffer because you don't like it?

Equal access to all gear / glams for others does not mean less for you. It's not pie. You're not "sharing" anything. Sharing implies that YOU give something of yours to someone else. YOU would lose nothing by SE giving what they gave you to the rest of us as well.

I'm not sure you understand what "unlock glamour restrictions" means. It means more for everyone, not less :P

Then ask for a suit made for females. Males could ask for bikinis as well, but if you ask me i'd say "no lol i don't care about bikinis on dudes, i'd like a cool armor instead". Removing genderlocking is just not interesting, so why should i say yes ? I'm not saying it's less to remove genderlocking, it's actually great for you guys. But since i'm getting nothing, why even saying yes to change ? So no i don't want to remove it. Nezha female set won't look great on male imo, not even worth trying.

It would inevitably be unbalanced, but that's an effect of male versus female fashion as a whole, because it's generally culturally accepted that a woman can wear pants without instantly looking masculine but it doesn't go the other way.

I'm not a glam expert i don't know every piece of gear but like you said there's not a lot of them. That's why i say no, it's unbalanced. It's not hard to see that players who enjoy manly things will end up having way less enjoyable things, that others. If genderlock is removed : females outfits have to become more attractive to more male players (and not just ppl who want femboys because that's convenient).

That cost potentially means less of something that person might want. Hard to quantify such things without actually being SE, but let's not pretend it's just selfishness on one end... or try moralise about it.

Clearly you have a very narrow-minded view of the world if you think it's an American thing to want to wear what they want others to view them as, and that the majority of the world doesn't care.

But I think they are correct, in that this is a point of view of a segment of the American population, and certainly some other segments elsewhere, but definitely not something the "majority of the world" has "gone past". Don't confuse your social media echo chambers for "the world".

The cost would be to me... I would be paying my money for something players who play male characters can use that my character cannot. And players who play male characters, who would like to purchase items locked to female characters only, would be paying their money. What is selfish about wanting to pay money for something that is currently available, but only usable by some?
