But but....what if I wanted to see buff cat daddies in skirts? I wanna see them 'furries' in all sorts of things. Don't make me beg.

I am really hoping SE gets rid of gender locked gear for good, they should give you the option of choosing which version of the piece you want to use even if it takes extra grind I’m okay with that. Some people might disagree with that but guess what you don’t have to wear the clothes you don’t like that’s the magic of customization.
Removing gender-lock means the players have 2x the amount of glamour option, it's a win/win for the players.
I've really enjoyed the few items they've removed gender restrictions on (the shorts especially), but what I don't understand is the reluctance to remove restrictions on Mog Station items (though that does seem like it's changing slowly with things like the collegiate set, which is nice). I'm certain it's a time consuming process and I know the devs are probably pushed for time etc etc, but it just seems like they’re losing out on some money by not doing it.
Maybe it’ll happen some time down the line, but all I know is I’ve wanted those Edda boots for my male character for years now, so if that could happen any time soon I would appreciate it…lol. I don’t even care about the rest of the set, I would spend the $12 just for the boots, so you have to wonder how many other people would do the same for other sets. Devs get more money through Mog Station, and players can have a little more fun with customization - it seems like a win-win to me.
Got to remember that remove the gender lock on gear would require them to remodel every single piece of gear to make it fit the opposite genders player models, and there are a bunch.
And seeing how long it's taken to "only" remodel headgear/hairstyles to fit the new races.. I'm not holding my breath for the removal of gender locked gear.
Which would be a lot less work than to make two somewhat different versions of the same gear which they are frequently doing, like the summer sweater being longer on females...Got to remember that remove the gender lock on gear would require them to remodel every single piece of gear to make it fit the opposite genders player models, and there are a bunch.

I would much rather see gear that i could actually wear than constantly be reminded that no, you aren't allowed to wear the pants made for that particular armour because reasons.
I'm not inclined to think so. Removing the gender lock on hairstyles brought about an era where the majority of new hairstyles are either very niche or feminine/androgynous.
If the gender lock on gear was done away with completely, I would be worried that we'd see a similar shift in such a direction.
Just to add onto this. Taking time to remove gender lock on gear pieces would take time away from us potentially getting other new glams as well. Something similar to the situation with this expansion where they’ve been wasting resources on older glams and removing the gender lock on them, costing us new glams like the second pvp set we’re missing out on, end of expansion glamour set we always get, or a male equivalent to the 2b coffee we got with nier. I’d rather they not waste those resources on things such a small amount of the playerbase would use and instead put them towards better things.I'm not inclined to think so. You say there's no rush, but you also want them to rush and get rid of gender locks? It seems like they are removing gender locks bit by bit, but that clearly takes some time.
They'll probably work on making these items work for both genders at some time- but it makes sense if they have the female clothing ready for female models, and the male for male models, they'd release that now since that's what the majority of players will use, then work on removing the locks. I definitely think they should be eventually getting everything ready for all models- but I think if we're going to say 'there's no rush', we need to act like there's no rush.
