This process has started with the recent unlocking of a few "male-only" and "female-only" items in game. Some items on the Online Store have also be updated to be gender-neutral (see Eternal Bonding Ceremony outfits). Back in December 2020 we saw the first two sets of gender-neutral glamour items (Collegiate Attire). All of this is great progress!

I was genuinely saddened by the backslide today with the release of the Eastern Lord Errant and Eastern Lady Errant outfits.

I know it takes extra time to re-fit outfits for all character models, but these are glams, and it's 2021. There is no timeline to keep. No rush to get them on the shop. So please, take the time to adjust them to all models.

There is no reason why female characters can't wear pants and male characters can't wear dresses and skirts. SE has already proven this by unlocking other items. So why are newly released items still locked to this antiquated way of thinking?

Not only is it the right thing to do to make the optional, paid items usable by any character, but SE will make more money in doing so — win / win. While it takes additional time to adjust the gear for all body types, the amount of potential revenue SE is overlooking by only selling to 50% of the Online Shop's customers is a huge missed opportunity.

I play a female character. She wears pants. I wanted these awesome pants from the Lord's set. I'd happily pay $18 right now (and more if other Online Shop "male-only" items were refitted for female models. And I know plenty of players who play male characters who feel the same way regarding "female-only" glamour items). But SE didn't take the time to make this fit my character, so I won't be giving them my money today. Sad day. Opportunity lost, SquareEnix.
