Personally, as a gay guy, I'd like to see more focus on conventionally attractive aesthetics. So, yes, more traditionally masculine glamour and hairstyles for male characters would be very much appreciated.

I haven't seen much 'crying' from those of us who enjoy masculine aesthetics. Though I think it's fascinating how often it is memory holed that the development team were accused of being 'bigots' and other horrid things back when the gender locks were tighter.

Furthermore, a common point of concern during the shift in development in regards to hairstyles was that the removal of the gender lock would result in the base designs leaning towards feminine and androgynous - which is exactly what happened.

I'm not surprised to see gaslighting at play from some of the usual suspects, however - it is what it is, I suppose.
