Having To Buy A Set Of Gear For Each Crafting Job, Why?

Basically, I was looking forward to saving up some scrips so I could buy some level 60 gear for my crafters, then I noticed, each gear is tied to one crafting class, despite them all sharing the same stats. Which means, if I want all my crafters in the best gear for my current level cap, I will need to buy each one. I understand the need for different primary and secondary tools, that is how you switch classes, but, why do we need different clothes and accessories for each one if they all share the same stats?

Only the initial AF gear for each level cap is unique to each crafting class, and is mostly used for glamour to give each class a unique look. The actual gear you want to be using is either the omni-class crafted set or the omni-class scrip set. At level 60 that is the Ironworks set, or the lesser Carbonweave set for crafted, or the Handmaster set for scrips (which you have to trade in for Blue Crafter's Scrip Tokens in order to buy). I wouldn't bother with any of that though and just keep leveling up until you can buy the super cheap yellow scrip omni-set at 70.

I am stuck with level 60 until I am able to buy ShB or the next expansion, whatever comes first. So, level 60 is my cap for now.

Then Handmaster is the go to set for you. It's still very very cheap, just takes a few more steps thanjust straight up buying with scrips. Buy the BLue crafter tokens from the scrip vendor, then go to the splendor vendor next to the scrip vendor in idyllshire and you should be able to trade the tokens in for i200 Handmaster gear.

Uhh, yo, Handmaster is only the accessories. The left side gear is all unique to each crafter. It's all the ___keep gear. Millkeep, Gemkeep, Boltkeep, etc.

i200 tools and accessories from the Splendors Vendor in Idyllshire. (Tools are, as always, class-specific, while the Augmented Handmaster accessories are not)

When it comes to the clothes on the left-hand side the best crafter gear at level 60 is indeed all class-specific gear.
For not-quite-best gear you can use the crafted sets. Ironworks is the best followed by Carbonweave. Both require rare materials to craft, so hard to craft on ones own and may not be available on the MB.
Another option is the basic crafted gear - the Chimerical Felt set. Pretty easy to craft by oneself, even HQ. Far from the very best option, but certainly the easiest to get hold of and good enough for most purposes.

And that is what doesn't make sense, as they all share the same stats.

You sure have a lot of opinions for someone who's still on the Free Trial.

Sometimes, devs just want to design gear that only looks appropriate on a particular class/job. A CUL outfit would look out strange on a CRP. A BSM shouldn't be wearing a WVR outfit.

Uh, last time I checked, you can't go on the forums if you are a free trial. I am a subscriber, I just had the choice between buying the game as well as Shadowbringers thus only getting the complimentary 30 days, or buying the game and 60 days game time, totaling 90 days. I chose the latter.
