Yeah because this isn't called Final FANTASY or anything...

Fantasy is a widely varied subset of fiction ranging from the realistic low fantasy settings to bizarre surrealist fantasy worlds.
Saying it's okay because it's fantasy is severe oversimplification.

That being said, it looks like they're pushing this game into a high fantasy style world somewhere around the weight of IX or VI. Not too terribly far from where we started, but I understand that the transition is jarring for people.

Speaking from personal experience, it took me a while to warm up to the idea.
