    Launcher Crash "Exception Processing Message 0xc0000135"

    Hi,

    For a few days now, my launcher has been crashing as soon as I click on the "Play" button after logging in.

    I then get the following error message:

    Exception Processing Message 0xc0000135 - Unexpected parameters"

    Does anyone else have the same problem?

    I am now in contact with the SE Technical Support, hoping they are able to help.

    Good afternoon and thank you for the reply.

    Are you able to provide a system report? Simply go to the 'Config' option on the Final Fantasy XIV launcher and to the right of 'System Information' click on 'Display.'

    Not Square-Enix support, but...

    I've seen ATI's Catalyst Control Center produce this error under certain situations if CCC, the actual underlying drivers, and the version of .NET installed on Windows don't all match. It will not necessarily appear globally, it will depend on how an application is initializing various things. I'd be a little surprised if that causes a crash in the Launcher rather than once the game starts, but... well, I notice the system report has a Radeon card. So I'd rip out all the Radeon software (uninstall both CCC and the Radeon drivers, reverting the system to default graphics drivers), reboot, reinstall the unified CCC/drivers package clean, reboot again, and try once more.

    If that doesn't work and a complete clean reinstall of the system hasn't yet been attempted (which I would understand, since that's a nuclear option)... admittedly, a clean install of the entire system might be a viable next step.

    Dolgan, have they tried reinstalling the game on the C drive instead of the secondary drive? Additionally, are they able to update the graphics drivers to a more recent version?

    Hi,
    Fiacha asked me to thank you for your suggestions. They will try the things you mentioned (reinstalling radeon software, reinstalling the game on the C drive). I'll give an update after they tried it.

    Hi,
    thank you again for your suggestions. I tried both but neither worked.
    The SE Support suggested to install the Microsoft Media Pack and after following their instructions I was finally able to play the game.

    In case someone else encounters the same Problem: Try installing Microsoft Media Package.
