If you would get an apartment while you're waiting to get a house, you wouldn't be homeless.

It's going to be a year before Ishgard housing is opened (which I don't think has sunk into the minds of many yet). There's always the chance that you might be able to get a house before then. There will probably be many houses becoming available through demolitions July-Oct as people who have seen what they want to see of the expansion content take a break not to mention the random houses. SE might decide to do another ward expansion because of the long delay and the continued demand.

If your goal is to get a house sooner instead of later, join one of the housing Discords with members that actively work monitor the housing districts and help players get houses through the intended method (no flipping).

The point of this thread is to voice out my concerns since neither SE and many fellow players care. What else can I do? How else do I point out that people resort to bot to get a house?

Is there a chance for me to get a house until then? Sure. Is there a chance bot will snatch the plots away? Fatter chance.

Isn't that the point of this thread tho? To let SE know that we want more and that people are so desperate that they use BOTs?

That doesn't change anything when it comes to doing one large sitting or several smaller ones. If you want to get technical, it's actually better to do small sittings the more bots there are.

A quick glance through this thread and you've been doing nothing but be rude and even at times, antagonistic. Even at the times where you may have said something considered 'helpful' you immediately ruin it by being snarky.

So curb that attitude and know that nobody is "defending" the system we have, but offering alternatives to try and alleviate the burden the current system 'forces' on people (even when it's not forcing anything on anyone, it's suffering that people willingly subject themselves too!)

If you genuinely do not care about any of the alternatives or alleviation in even the slightest degree, then frankly there's little point in acknowledging you. Purely because you are choosing to not use the systems in place to assist you in times like these.

While I sympathize with players who don't have a house, I find myself disagreeing with this completely.

At some point, you have to decide what is more important: your medical well-being or obtaining a virtual house in a video game.

You are free to make any decision you want, but do not place the blame on anyone other than yourself. It is you and only you who chooses to deprive yourself of sleep.

There are people in this forum who have deprived themselves of so much sleep that it has cost them their physical health, schoolwork, and other life responsibilities. Sleep deprivation is extremely dangerous, and can prevent you from functioning to the best of your abilities.

Here is my suggestion.

Buy an apartment (so you can have a space to call your own), and periodically search for available houses. If it is time for you to sleep or attend to errands/work, do that instead. Don't neglect your health and life responsibilities.

Once Ishgard housing is released, many more plots will be free to purchase. Leave your character in your desired housing district before the patch, log into the game right after patch goes up, and pick up whatever is available (and then you will be able to transfer freely). You probably won't be able to get your dream plot, but chances are there will be enough for you to get one.

In the meantime, don't stress yourself over a house. It's not worth it.

I do believe something should be done to alleviate the issues of obtaining a house, especially when it comes to bots. But as of now, the only feasible solutions seem to be adding more wards and offering apartments as alternatives given the nature of the game. Until those improvements are made, please take care of yourself.

This is a huge problem with many aspects of the game.

For example the ‘do 18 hw and 18 Sb alliance raids’ clearly wasn’t meant to be banged out in 24 hours.

With the best will of the developers MMO’s often encourage bad personal habits from the players with anything Grindy or time dependent. And their options seem to be cut this stuff out which actually will lose players to other games who do it, or trust the players to play responsibly.

Problem with the housing is if someone is willing to sit there all night, then you have to also.
