Maybe it is supposed to work in the opposite direction? The Garleans said they couldnt "aim" Dalamund but are still continuing with Meteor. Maybe the Crystal Tower is going to be used to pull Dalamund out of the sky?

What? A theory that tries to make sense in a FF world? The density of the moon is 0, the density of people in these forums is infinite.
What goes on in the forums stays in the forums.
Using my epic MSPaint skills, I'm going to illustrate how not only is Dalamud not going to connect, but the Crystal Tower is going to rise from the surface in a land that will be released in 2.0 for all to explore!

My logic is irrefutable.
I'm not sure I agree with the dalamud being on top of the crystal tower, but I agree that it will make aether pull out from the ground. Thats genius.
Now try and explain all the new towns and such :P
OH OH OH
Maybe thats why we keep finding depleted crystals? They are taking all this aether and putting it somewhere to attract dalamud...

Except virtually everything is affected.. Every map will be remade, even the cities. In fact, the only thing in the concept art that looks the same is Ishgard (and we know the dungeons will remain in tact).Or Dalamud somehow attracts aether, in a similar manner to a magnet attracting iron, this will allow the crystal tower to come up, possibly at Silvertear falls, and it would explain the chained down crystal in the pdfs, but other things remain unaffected.
This attraction of aether could bring some of it in contact with dalamud that causes a huge explosion (or some other reaction) to change the face of Eorzea.
Thats my thorey on it and the pieces fit together nicely.
The Gravity deformation via Dalamud proximity theory neatly explains the huge spikes of earth erupting and other anomalies. Granted, it could be done via "aether magnetism" just as easily. Perhaps the eruptions of earth are due to the fact that they have heavy aether concentrations in them...
So yeah, either one works for me.
The time-gap, world-rebuilding issue is the only thing I'm really curious about now. How do they explain entire cities, new empire outposts, Trains, ruins, giant fortresses etc.. all built or rebuilt overnight?
My guess is that Atomos will make an appearance...

yoshi npc spoke about a different world much like ours or something like that.
so dimensional merge or voidgate being opened.
Wow!... What a... What a revelation!

Seems like a lot of you are hinting toward the 2.0 PDF stuff. Do we have dead certainty that the artifact seen in the 2.0 teaser:
Is this the Crystal Tower? No, the Tomb of Xandes the Crystal Tower is in Mor Dhona, a desolate waste. This is sprouting from the image map of Coerthas.

But, it does demonstrate that things will be sprouting up out of the ground. The "Grav" argument seems to hold some flesh about the desolation or at least transformative effects.

you sure thats Coerthas? The mountain formations are totally different. Looks more like Thanalan, based on rock formations to me. Am i wrong?Seems like a lot of you are hinting toward the 2.0 PDF stuff. Do we have dead certainty that the artifact seen in the 2.0 teaser:
