What do you get out of XIV?

Putting it bluntly, it gave me an escape from an otherwise mundane time in the world. Aside from that, really, just the companionship of some of the most caring and friendly people I've encountered online. I get to spend time with them and do activities which we're mutually invested in, all whilst getting not only fun but a very significant timesink, which is great!

The thrill of combat from the battle system, the satisfaction I get from helping others complete duties, the lessons of not taking rewards for granted, and the first MMO to encourange me to take the initiative to socialize with others a bit to make the game more enjoyable. I am an introvert in real life, so FFXIV helps me cope with it a bit in ways that I can enjoy.
