I don't remember doing it but apparently, i tossed two recollection relics. Is there any way to obtain these again without doing the whole step line again?

You can only obtain replicas. To continue / finish the relic you need the relic ( so if you're looking to finish the relic you gotta start over ). The replicas are at NPCs near each relic quest NPC, depends on the relic.

Make sure you didn't stash them on your chocobo or a retainer as well

you can type "/isearch recollection" command to help you look for them in saddlebag/retainer like above poster mentioned.

yeah, I checked everywhere. I was wondering if I could get it from a vendor or something but i am almost done with both again so no worries.

The isearch won't show up if a retainer (or mannequin) is actually *wearing* it. If by any chance you didn't think to check.

You should be able to gather the memories from the older steps while farming the new steps. At least, hopefully. That way you can progress the other 15 while working to build up the stuff for the two you accidentally got rid of.

They can also be put into glamour dressers. I forgot I did that
