Can we have experience turn ins at lvl80?

Not much to do at end game if someone is not into raiding. But i remember some other game (Aion? Not sure) had something like experience extractor, you could turn in exp for money or other things. Like 50% exp for 100k gil or scrips or some new tokens or something. More people would run daily roulettes and continue playing. Would you like something like this?

You already get around 100k gil just for doing all the roulettes every day.

I wouldn't mind if they added some kind of new token reward and threw a bunch of old glamours into a shop I could buy from, but realistically there's already plenty of reason to continue doing roulettes at 80.

I've long thought a role play and cosmetic focused merit system could be fun, in the spirit of sphere grid and or license board. Role play means that anything that may affect combat only does so in the open world (so ultimate, savage, and other content that would cause players to start to exclude each other based on merits doesn't actually get affected by the merit system). The conversion and reward may also incorporate some challenge log, or the daily roulette, certain FATEs may provide bonus, or even side quests. Introducing side quests or FATEs I feel would also be nice since you could have the cost of engaging in the sphere grid balanced in such a way it mainly sits at end game but yet also has a few introductory moments.

For example on Dragoon you might have unlocked half fall damage by level 40, and at 60 you've no fall damage and also gain rebound which causes you to move faster shortly there after and jump a bit higher (when in the open world). Other nodes could be things like slightly higher jump, charged jump (higher if you hold the space bar), hulk jump (super hero leaps - massive distances covered, mild amount of control in the air for convenience, technically probably a little faster than actual mounts but in straight lines lol, which may best work as if you use it under the mount system, uses your flying permission to determine if you smack into certain invisible walls or just Sun Wukong land at a position, even if it's partially in the air), Dragonsense (open world only dragon radar), especially if offering higher jumps is an issue then use of chocobo jump like points seen in single player FF games, visual changes to your dragon dive spirit, color or at least theme control of your spirit energy, etc - meanwhile there might be some hilariously expensive dragoon armor inspired by the main dragons, like a Nidhogg or Hraesvelgr inspired AF.

Some features could be upgraded into a cross class format for a massive inflation of cost (candidates for the much longer term goals), for those that don't take too much away from the job itself. For example you could upgrade your fall damage 50% into a cross class passive reducing damage to all your jobs fall by 50% (and it would cost a massive amount more of exp compared to unlocking it just on dragoon; however, the ultimate version would remain dragoon exclusive).

If the system allows you to spend exp you earn on any job then this next part is unnecessary but if the exp is job specific, I think it would be a better choice, and might help keeping costs down for each job (such that via some side quests and stuff a level 40 could enjoy a small taste of the merit system before actually having to hit cap), then there would also be a general tab where you can convert any job specific merit points into a general area (allowing for players to have some value in continue playing with the system via their job even if they somehow capped out the job itself).

The conversion wouldn't be perfect but you could have things like creating camp fires that have function (in the open world), flying mount like you see in some of the cutscenes with mother crystal, can diverge into other QoL like adding personal aetherytes into the Inns of the game via the door like FFXI flower girl quest but you have to unlock each connection (and to your apartment / house / main city aetheryte), a feature I've long wanted but the ability to use the aetheryte network via the map (when near, instead of interacting with it), may include ideas of unlocking passives once you obtain certain gear too (and spend the merit aether), like you might get those sprint boosting boots and once you bind them to your character you can unlock the passive that'll keep em on (the passive), or if relics had a passive on them which means once you obtain the relic you can keep the passive (of course these passives would not touch ultimate, savage, and the like, and so they should therefore be designed more around a fun feeling of playing over focusing specifically on dps as you won't get too much value from strict dps increases unless you're solo / open worlding it). DoH/DoL might have a whole section that they all share with special branches for specific jobs, like if Chemist is not to be a thing then Alchemist would get the ability to increase the effectiveness of potions (automatically applied to all jobs, since drinking potions strictly on alchemist is a bit "wut?" of a perk), cooking could gain quick craft recipes that use a very simple system of a zone to create bonuses for that area (done at camp fires, may pair with other food to enhance the duration of that normal food, quick craft food following a simple concept such that they can be prepared pretty easily within said zone).

Bard's instruments could be within the system, with perhaps the instruments, most of them at least, being relatively inexpensive (like specialty instruments can be more expensive just because they might be neat, like a Guzheng), then you could upgrade the node for a far greater cost to play that instrument outside of bard's role (so very easy to play pretty much all instruments as bard, very very very hard to do so outside of bard). Might have a mount where the bard plays themselves a mount, like if they were on a cloud or stag made from musical notes played form the instrument of their choice (with a special of the mount being that you can play music at the same time as being mounted).

Naturally you could also include an even more aggressive conversion into current tomestones, if there was nothing of value to you (but the conversion rate means like "literally nothing else here for me" and probably shouldn't be the first thing you do with the points - the system shouldn't beat the economy to a pulp). I would avoid too much exp to gil conversion since it seems like a great place for bots to monopolize if it has any value.

Absolutely incorrect. There's plenty to do besides raiding. There's daily roulette, crafting, gathering, leveling other classes, relic weapon quests, extreme trials / mount farming, maps, roleplaying (if you're interested in that), the entire gold saucer, and general shenanigans with friends. There's more than that but I could go on for a while.

Tokens to purchase glamour rewards that can only be obtained by playing max-level characters would be an excellent way to encourage people to stick with a job, rather than just level and dump.

I don't do them all and I net around 414,750 gil a week from just doing roulettes so yeah. I have saved up 12.6 mil entirely from months worth of roulettes... nobody can really complain that gil is hard to make in this game.

    Are people not running roulettes?
If anything I think and idea like this might work better if attached to the challenge log.

I think the idea has merit, but it shouldn't give gil. Unique glamour or mounts would be cool though.

Sometimes it feels like a chore and not fun. Like I’m eating dinner thrn suddenly, omg i have 1 hour left to finish 2 more roulettes. And if you don’t login, then you just feel bad going to sleep like your homework is unfinished you know?
