This! Why did they make it 12? That's not enough (T_T). I slaved away in the previous competition and could only get rank 18, if memory serves. It hurt.

I really wanna know how many ppl join and get about 6-8k points at least... or how many would join if aiming for the top wouldnt be pointless...

I think that’s true of the gatherers but not really the crafters.

I’m in contention and I’m playing no more than any of my friends. I’d be doing maps or dungeons or something if not. It’s not nearly as bad as people seem to make out. Few hours a night.

Do agree on the gathering side of things though.

Well even if its just a few hours its way to much wasted Lifetime for just a title, except you want buy something for the scripts. You can also automate most of the process quite easily except for the turn ins. Maybe its not real botting if you need to check back every few hours for repairing gear and doing the turn ins, but its still a big advantage in contrast to people that click everything by themselves.

I’m not too sure how much of the crafting experts is automated. I’m not saying some people don’t have bots or just do the same rotation over and over and hope, but most people seem to be making them fairly from what I can see... although obviously don’t know what hoarders are going to show up on last day.

And in regards to wasted lifetime for a title, you could surely say that about anything in game. Some of us enjoy it.

It would be nice if the gathering portion was actually monitored. Not sure how feasible it actually is to legitimately get that many points in a day like some of the others are.

I got just 15,720 points as BTN in the 3 hours I spent in there yesterday, using my Aetheric Auger on the plant monsters only...and some people got between 80k and 120k...in one day worth of ranking. In fact, the most points earned yesterday that I see is 122,919. All I'm gathering is the Artisinal stuff, and getting the weather nodes when they pop. I do not see that being able to be done legitimately.

There’s an optimal route, and if you have pentamelded gear and can hit the breakpoints and use the right rotations then you get a lot more points. I’m not saying they’re not bots but any human can get as many points as a bot over say a four hour period, they don’t run faster or have inherently better gatherers, nor fix the points.

They terminated 15 accounts and temporarily suspended 90 others for non-RMT related bot activity during the 5.31 rankings. Next action notice should be on Thursday so we'll see if they've caught more again this time (along with next week's notice will which cover the end of the ranking period).

It's definitely a nice honey pot but I doubt there is as much non-RMT botting going on in the rankings as many want to believe (though there obviously is some happening). Most of the numbers, as large as they are, are still within human ability to achieve if you don't sleep much. I know how much I can get done in 2 hours, it's easily to multiply that out to see how much others could do in 16-18 hours.

For a short term competition, there will be people willing to go to that extra effort to get what they want. Then they go back to their normal schedules, usually without being worse for it.

I still don't feel this is a good style of competition but it is what it is. It's up to the player whether they want to participate.

As someone with the Saint title from last go, I still think the title itself should have just been overall score related instead of a timed competition that is barely monitored and allows for re-ranking of people with the exclusive title already.
