    Back on topic, positionals are fun and make combat more dynamic (because there are literally more things moving around), distinguishes melee from ranged, and adds a bit of skill for getting positional bonuses in around mechanics. That being said, I'm inclined to think that True North should be part of the monk ability set rather than a role action, but that's a small nitpick.

    I mean, she isn't wrong. I don't envy people who start the game these days. You get this big bad villain build-up only to defeat them by pressing 1 1 1. That's the MSQ in a nutshell. And if you fail once, which I think is normal you immediately get a very easy option and the Echo. These days I wish I'd get the anti echo. Doesn't take anything away from anyone. Just give me an option that's not [make game insultingly easy].

    Positionals have already been made more forgiving multiple times, at this point it's not a big deal if you miss them occasionally and if you know that it's going to be a thing like in Dohn Mheg then you just save True North for that.

    Tanks that don't take it into consideration at all are annoying tho, especially when they jump around in circles spinning the boss 360 but it's very rare.
    When it does happen it does make me want to strangle them tho.

    I kinda reject the notion that Casters somehow have it easier tho because considering how much movement there is in this game Casters have more to contend with in that regard and their damage is harmed more by it than a missed positional.

    The positionals are one of the aspects of playing a melee dps that makes it fun. Some people like thinking about creative ways to stay within boss attack range and adjusting for the boss turning, and tanking is also more fun because you can think of ways to make it so that the boss turns as little as possible.

    That being said, I wouldn't be opposed to a melee dps that doesn't have positionals since I'll always be an advocate for offering a healthy range of jobs with varying degrees of difficulty to optimize. coughs in Shadowbringers Healer changes

    I really want them to just merge the fist stances tho, like why does Ninja have a passive for faster movement speed when they barely have to move at all in their rotation ( they can just sit at the back and only need to hit the side to refresh Huton ).
    On a thematic level it makes sense for Monk too.

    There are no positiionals required on trash packs except the initial use of Twin Snakes, which, who cares, it's a dungeon, it's one use of twin Snakes you are going to miss.

    As for bosses, you need to know what they are going to do. I believe Argath is the last boss of Rabanastre? If so, when he does special attacks, he always faces south, you need to remember the line between rear and flank and be straddling that, remembering you can go inside the hitbox to straddle these lines as well to make movement to the correct position easier, which is something I very rarely see people do. They always seem to want to go around the outside.

    However, at the end of the day, you just have to accept you will miss some positionals, it is not the end of the world and it will not tank your DPS unless you do it constantly. So, just like BLM, fight knowledge is crucial.

    I suggest a separate bar to tell where the hell we are fighting from cuz the little circle reticle isn't doing it for me especially since its supposed to be a central mechanic for 3/4 of the DPS



    Xenoblade for example, has a icon that shows where we are at like Side/Back/Front and id wish ff14 had a similar bar

    I’m of the minority and that I want positionals to go. I hate having to bob and weave around a boss. I’m to used to games where positionals don’t even exist. Just let me do my combos in peace without worrying about if I’m in the proper place to do more damage.
