Possible to Check Mentor(to be) Status?

I've reached 80 for both DoL and DoH and have done a pretty fair bit of collectables in both, particularly DoL.

Is there any way to see that I have X of # required to qualify as a mentor?

I've talked to the smiths (I assume the guild masters though I've talked to all the NPCs) in more than 1 gathering/crafting guild and no one has an option for 'be a mentor' or has a quest or whatever the next step is.

Just check your achievements. It;s 300 required for gatherer and 100 for crafter, so just look for the achievements for those two and you'll know how far away you are.

as it turned out I had 'Smith' confused with the 'smiths' as in Guildsmiths. Sigh. Thank you again

Yep... of all these really active NN ‘trade’ mentors I see maybe 3 in the rankings for the firmament.

The actual requirement is ridiculous too.. I have so many obscure trade achievements and yet I didn’t meet ‘mentor’ status because there really isn’t any reason to make so many collectables. You’re not qualified to give advice on crafting because you made one item lots of times with a macro.

Should be more along the lines of all land/hand 80 and a very high number of total crafts for a start. It’s in no way comparable to the commendations requirement.

Collectables was actually one of the easiest one. Back in the Day™ I got that achievement almost passively just from leveling and Custom Deliveries.
