Give Highlanders eyebrows already

Seriously, I get it. "The lore though," but this is a really weak and lame answer. I get it, it's your game and you can do whatever you want with it. But man, it's really disheartening to be the only race in the game without a basic facial cosmetic option. We're forced to either look like insane neanderthals or have gigantic face paint caterpillars on our foreheads. I'm sure there are in lore Highlanders that are born outside of traditions or families that decide "hey, here's a hot take. Let's not teach our boys to buzz their eyebrows off." I can't understand why people are so cool with a race of basically humans lacking something literally almost 100% of humans have. It should be an option for players to do something like removing eyebrows to look "intimidating" not mandatory.

I think you missed the point of this. I love the race and playing one, but the lack of a base cosmetic feature that literally everyone else has is frustrating. I'm not alone in this thought either, there are a lot of players confused to why we can't have simple eyebrows.

I actually use the face paint feature to make my char's brows thicker, too, because default brows are too thin imo. I actually think the paint brows on your avatar looks great. X'D They don't look like caterpillars at all, very flattering.
But yeah, adding a an eyebrow option in the facial feature section should be easy enough to do XD

I mean, I would like eyebrows, but it doesn't bother me so much that I'll race change to something else just for eyebrows. But I would support eyebrows if it came down to it.

A lack of eyebrows isn't really a deal breaker for me. I love the race. But I do think that it is a bit silly that they don't have eyebrows even as an option. And no, I don't think painting them on solves it. It reminds me of that one episode of Brooklyn Nine Nine where Terry shaves his eyebrows off and tries to paint them back on to avoid having facial hair mites.

well unless you can really present a solid case to the devs it's not gonna change anytime soon. it's baked into the main lore of the game. not something to be changed on a whim just because "i wanna have them".

It's not baked into the lore though, only Ala Mhigan tradition. Highlander's born outside of Ala Mhigo with families that wanted to escape that life say, after a war that made their race look bad...The Autumn war for instance. Would have no reason to do that. Do you think if an Elezen family adopted a Highlander baby they would buzz his face? No, of course not. That would be stupid. It's not "I want to have them." Of course, I do, but that's not the statement. The statement is that we SHOULD have them. It's not something like Viera with headgear, they don't need to remodel hundreds of items, all they need to do is give us some friggin' brows that match our hair colour and don't take up the facepaint slot, or look horrible. It's simply not a case of want, it's a case of why? If they can give Miqo'te playable men and Roegadyn playable women, eyebrows really shouldn't be out of reach.

Also note that Highlander women mysteriously aren't subjected to the same limitations. I'm sure the development team know full well that it wouldn't be a popular limitation on the female model, though unfortunately that didn't stop them where the male model is concerned.

It's also been a common request for them to be added right from the launch of the game.

On my end, I'm never giving up the fight and I suggest others rally around the cause as well - Highlander men have a pretty nice physique but there's only two faces I see used on average (one of which is much more popular than the other) and even then the lack of eyebrows just discourages many people from playing one.

It's like how Elves are among the most popular character choice in other MMO's but they're not in FFXIV - in large part due to inelegant, weird proportions for the model and their animations.

ESPECIALLY WARRIOR OF LIGHT HIGHLANDERS who appear to have no direct ties to Eorzea at all, let alone ala mhigo specifically, with the way the msq is written. Also Ala Mhigo has been liberated for a while now they can let their eyebrows grow out again. Maybe the real reason is one of the artists is a big fan of super saiyan 3 from dragonball.
