Him being related to the Ascian plot is a bit weird I'll grant you but maybe inevitable due toI liked Zenos in StB, but he feels out of place in ShB, being dragged along with a plot that doesn't quite match him. The incredibly strong character who just likes fighting for the sake of fighting can work well for a bit of character variety, but doesn't really suit a main position in a grand plot that affects the fate of multiple worlds. He would have worked better as more of a side character who hunts us down for fights and is a bit of a loose cannon rather than being tangled with Ascians and Zodiark.
being the grandson of Emet-Selch. I also like to think Lahabrea might be in there somewhere in a severely reduced form but that's just me and it's probably not true.
