Worlds with Open Housing

Are there any? I'm on a JP server/DC and the housing availability is appalling. I'd do a server transfer to check but can't afford the money to jump DCs just to see the state of housing on the various worlds. (I don't mind paying if I could find one, of course)

While I know if I do find a world, I'll lose my apartment and my FC (solo player FC) I am ok with that.

I do not care about the language or DC location.

Anyone with info that can help? Most appreciated and thank you in advance

Your best bet is to keep an eye on the plots on Jan 22. That's when houses visited during the demolition timer freeze will expire, if they have not been visited after the timer was resumed. There will probably be a small surge of free plots on that day.

About half of the worlds on the Gaia data center had a bunch of small houses when I last checked (was back around end of October or start of November) but not certain what they look like now. I can try to get over there in a bit to check for you.

I'd be surprised if any have sat unclaimed for so long, but for individual players mediums tend to be more desirable so it's hard to say for sure.

From my understanding, unless it was changed from the previous times, if you had 10 days left to your home when the freeze came into play, then entered your house even for every day it was frozen, once the timer was resumed you still had 10 days left.

Now while I'm sure people became more lax about entering their homes if they didn't actually use them for anything other than keepsies, so I'm sure some homes will absolutely open up on the 22nd, I wouldn't put too much hopes in that one day to be housing day.

My understanding was the other way around(and had been every previous time too). Entering the house still reset the timer, but it wasnt moving otherwise. I use my house all the time, so i obviously dont have an in-game way to check. If anyone feels like reading the old patch notes/demo announcements to see if this is for sure spelled out one way or the other id be happy to update my understanding of the situation. But tdb is certainly right that some houses will open up on that day. Probly not as many as some people hope, but some open plots for sure.

OP - Unless you are somehow at the character limit for your account, you could always make an alt on another data center to check. In general, open lots are most likely to be found in Goblet and a pretty low level THM/GLD/PGL could check those for an entire data center easily enough. A run from ul dah to gridania(doable at level 1 if youre adventurous) would allow you to check all the lavender lots too. Playing until the story sends you to Limsa would allow for mist checking(or a seperate ACN/MRD alt). Its only Shiro you have to be at a high level to check. Ill tell you now that the NA centers are more or less full. The two newest worlds are on the euro centers, and they had openings in the fall(not sure about now). The japanese DCs have the lowest player per server ratio, so even if yours is full checking the other two might be worth a few mins of your time.

Oh? That seems like it could create some gotchas though - if someone had a house two days away from expiring when the timer freeze went into effect but then entered their house just after (before it would have been demolished without the freeze), and then entered the house again on the last day of the freeze, they would lose the house soon after the freeze ended even though they just recently visited the house.

When I checked recently Lavender was chock full on my server, and there's usually been at least a couple plots free, so it seems the amount of plots being freed has been less than usual. I can't be certain though.

Edit: I looked up the notice about the timer suspension.

* If your estate or land is currently being prepared for auto-demolition, you can cancel this by entering your house or building a house on your plot of land.
* The Auto-Demolition Counter will resume where it stopped at the time of the temporary suspension. (Excludes estates/lands where the demolition process has been cancelled.)

This seems to indicate that you can still cancel the timer while the suspension is in effect, and a fresh timer would start ticking down from 45 days once suspension ends.
