I'm not making anything more complicated. Just a more depth system.
So, lets see, Meat Miq'abob Fire Shard x3
    Dodo Tenderloin x1
    Paprika x1
    Ruby Tomato x1
    Lavender Oil x1
    Table Salt x1
    Black Pepper x1
Don't like Tomato, don't add it, you will get a slightly different effect. Taking one ingredient out of the equation, making it LESS complicated of a craft. Though, I did do an edit on my OP, you should read it about the meal things. That just adds more depth to the cooking, not more complicated.

Also, as I stated before, FOOD effects everyone, not just the people making it.
There are a total of 86 fully finished dishes right now. We can assume an average of 3 ingredients per dish (a low and generous amount for this example). At 3 ingredients per dish, there are are 7 possible combinations or end-results. That's 602 total dishes, which is excessive.

When the average number of ingredients jumps to 4, the total dishes is 1548. That's insane.

Please think about what you're requesting before you make a topic.

Hurp please read my op again hurp

"Maybe making different recipiese for each item is a little much"

Also, if a game like earthbound can do it, I don't see why this game couldn't.

That is absolutely not different, because the end result must still be an item that has to sit in your inventory. It's an object that must be defined before you are able to see it in-game. Pick up a beginners' book on discrete math and combinatorics before you make suggestions like this. What you're suggesting offers very little gameplay benefit and it's actually something that is bleeding edge computer science experimentation, because of the sheer amount of data and variability that needs to be accounted for.
