How Do I Command Eos To Follow A Target?

Hi everyone! I'm learning Scholar and want to make a macro which would assist me to make better use of Eos.

I found a macro which places my fairy on a target. /pac "Place"<t><wait.3.

But, that's only good for those times when the player doesn't move much. I'd like to have Eos follow the target; thus, keeping a tank or other party member in range of her healing spells. Any advice?

Unfortunately the advice is to "stop looking for one" because it doesn't exist. The macro system in XIV is rather basic on purpose and always the inferior option to just pressing the skill, it's deliberately designed that way to discourage macro usage in combat.

    Sadly there are none.
Normally, placing them manually on the middle of arena, or in the middle of your group’s relative positions are the best choices you have. The macro you listed above is also viable. [Broil] cast time window usually provide enough time to use these commands. Keeping the ‘follow’ command just next to the place/macro hotkey will also help immensely.

Otherwise, kindly ask your group to not stand too far away from you/tank/middle of arena/in general.
Players in general shouldn’t stray too far away from bosses anyways. It doesn’t help that plenty of AoEs in game are also unbelievably easy to dodge up close but nigh impossible when you’re too far away. (Looking at you large conal 45°, 90°, 180° and 270° cleaves; and rotating sequence AoEs)

Thank you. I was afraid of that.

I love the scholar job but the number of individuals who seem determined to stay out of range of my fairy's healing spells is frustrating. Perhaps I should place Eos on top of the bosses to insure at least the tank is in range. LOL

To do what you want, I would try and renew this command while aiming at the tank:
    Code:
    /pac "Place" <tt>
Then, something like this when on the move:
    Code:
    /macroerror
    /follow <2>
    /ac Peloton
    /pac "Heel"

(<2> is tank and Peloton is in for when I play bard)
Or I would have pet follow me and place myself as needed

    /facepalm

Talk about a case where the answer was obvious. I am a fool for not seeing it. Thank you Yotsuffy!
