question about markers

I play this game since A LOT, but i can't figure out one thing:

if i am not mistaken you can use a macro or the in-game "target to attack 1" <1> to mark subsequent targets and the <1> becomes <2>, <3> etc.. without the need to put on bar more buttons..

how do you do that?
it would be really useful to mark healers in pvp AND LEAVE EM MARKED withoud the need to mark them repeatedly

/marking attack2 <t>
etc

But you'd need to swap your target as your macro fires off with whatever delay you give it.

For enemies
You can try
/marking attack1 <e1>
/marking attack2 <e2>
/marking attack3 <e3>
/marking attack4 <e4>

Also, for the most part, people know who the healer is, a permanent mark doesn't help them not be bad, or whatever it is you're trying to help alleviate.

use shape/bind macros instead. Save attack macros for calling focus fire.
