Would anyone at all be interested in restarting from scratch* with a fixed party?

I'm always down to helping others, if i'm available. I'm no stranger to leveling new characters and i still have characters on Sargatanas i can use for that. For instance:

• C'zeith Tia
• C'ashya Ayzr

However, if you want to create a new character on Coeurl for that, that would mean that you will on the Crystal Datacenter, while my characters are on Aether. I already have leveled characters on 3 different Datacenters and leveling another completely fresh character on a 4th Datacenter might be a bit much. (^_^; )

Next to that, i'm European so i'm usually online around 11:30am to 3pm (PST) during working days and around 2am to 8am (PST) during the weekends. So, it kind of depends when you want to do it and on which datacenter. If you find windows that would match my playtimes, let me know. We can figure something out.

It's still nice when you can commence a cutscene at around the same time and then everyone has funny reactions to what's happening and since cutscenes are more or less synced it's fun cuz you know what they're reacting to.

Probably will have to turn on text auto-advance for that, or different reading speeds may cause you to drift out of sync. But yeah.

The time would probably be a problem since I'm five hours ahead and I work from 4 AM to 11:30 AM PST plus need 2 hours to work on art commissions every weekday. I'm usually available from 2 PM to 8 PM PST on weekdays, til 9~10 PM if fridays and pretty much all day on saturdays.
I can play in any datacenter or world though. From what I tested I haven't had any significant ping issues even playing with Japanese on Mana. So it would be down to what the other player(s) would pick for a DC and World.

I would actually be very interested! I'm free pretty much all day because my job is... very annoying, and regardless - most of my time is spent on FF14 anyways! I haven't tested EU or JP data centers but considering my poor internet I probably would be stuck on NA servers.

It would be awesome, but FF is definitely not the game for it. So much of the game structure is set up to be a roadblock to party leveling. Their history of developing single player content really has its stamp on this game.

Old as it is, Everquest would actually be the best game to do this in, because questing is almost never a hard roadblock to what you can or can't do. It's also a fantastic party based game, where you do really need a party to do a lot of the content. If I had to pick one MMO where having a party was the most rewarding, it would still be EQ by a mile. It's also very forgiving of someone missing a session or two. FF, if you get off the track with one person, even by a day or two, you're pretty much screwed. The content is so rigidly locked behind and to the MSQ that it makes it almost impossible to keep that kind of scheduling up.

Not really. Doing the MSQ together is quite easy to do with 1 or 2 other people. You will all level at the same pace. You won’t be level-locked at any point to impede progress because this game barfs experience at players going through the MSQ. Seriously: I’ve been leveling an alt and I’ve avoided any and all exp buffs including rested experience, and it took all that for me to finally hit a level lock in the middle of the pre-Stone Vigil quest chain—and it was only by less than half a level. It’s quite doable. I’ve done it. I went through 2.0, 2.x, and 3.0 with a friend of mine (who made an alt just to level up with me so that I wasn’t doing all that alone), and we managed just fine. We played just about every day for a few hours until I was caught up (patch 3.1 at the time).

The only challenge one would have would be conflicting schedules. Exacerbated when you’re dealing with more than one individual, but it is quite doable. You’d only have to “disband the party” for solo instances, but everything else can be done in a party with very little issue outside of scheduling. Not nearly as impossible as you’re insinuating.

NA is the "ideal" for me since it's the closest to my country, so it's fine by me.

I'm not sure what is the most appropriate way to enter in contact for this kind of thing. I have discord but I don't know if exchanging is a nono in the forums.

Shouldn’t be. I’ve seen a lot of posts advertising Discords. And I’ve had my Discord handle in my signature for years now. So posting yours shouldn’t be an issue.
