Fatal directx error

I know literally nothing about computers so I could really use some help. I play ffxiv on a dell inspiron which has always handled the game decently, my fps is tolerable I've had fatal direct x errors before but it would usually be max once per day. The last few days my game has been crashing with this message every few minutes to the point that the game is unplayable. I tried updating my laptops Radeon graphics driver, turned down all of my settings and switched the game to windowed but nothing has helped. Every time I try to google the problem every solution just confuses me so I was hoping someone would be able to explain a solution to someone who's computer illiterate.
